Job summary

Aon plc in Poland is seeking a Legal Advisor to join the Warsaw- and Krakow-based Aon Law team. You will collaborate with UK-based lawyers to provide support on commercial contracts across Europe, supporting Human Capital and Risk Capital businesses.

The role can be performed from Warsaw or Krakow offices, with a focus on negotiating English-language contracts, cross-border structures, privacy terms, and risk management in partnership with compliance and data privacy teams.

Legal Advisor

Legal Advisor will work as part of the Warsaw- and Krakow-based Aon Law team, collaborating closely with Aon’s UK based lawyers to provide support on a range of commercial contracts that facilitate Aon’s Human Capital and Risk Capital businesses across Europe.

This role may be performed from our offices in Warsaw or Krakow.

What the day will look like

• Reviewing and negotiating English language commercial contracts for Aon entities in a domestic and international context across Europe, with a primary focus on Aon’s captive insurance management and reinsurance solutions businesses.
• Working closely with UK-based Aon lawyers as part of an integrated, cross-border legal team.
• Identifying when local legal advice is required and coordinating with Aon lawyers or external counsel in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Working with the business on a range of client related issues such as tenders, cross border contracting structures and template rationalization.
• Providing legal advice and support to business colleagues on a range of contractual matters, including complex client consulting and brokerage contracting, and privacy terms.
• Working together with other Aon support functions (Compliance, Data Privacy, etc.) to ensure legal risk is managed appropriately.
• Proactively engaging and building effective working relationships with applicable Aon business colleagues and management to identify risks and matters requiring escalation.
• Supporting team infrastructure such as updating precedents and playbooks, undertaking research, and arranging, delivering, and attending training.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

A minimum of five years working experience as an in-house counsel in a multinational organisation or an associate in a reputable law firm.

• Fluent English.
• Hands-on experience with UK, US or other common law jurisdiction commercial contracts, providing commercial legal advice, drafting and negotiating in the English language.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, escalating concerns appropriately.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
• High level of self-direction and demonstrated good judgment.
• Ability to create and deliver practical solutions that appropriately balance commercial objectives and legal risks, including incorporating the responsible use of AI.
• Ability to independently manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
• Prior relevant experience in the financial services or consulting sector, including with respect to insurance/reinsurance (or other regulated financial services) regulations and laws, is an asset.
