Job summary

GlobalLogic in Poland seeks a senior backend engineer to design, implement, and maintain scalable microservices using C#.NET within a cloud-native Azure environment. You will build robust APIs and data access layers, collaborating with frontend teams, DevOps, and data scientists to deliver high-performance services.

You will drive architecture decisions, implement secure API contracts, and help optimize CI/CD pipelines while ensuring quality and reliability across services.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in backend microservice development using C#.NET.
• Knowledge of C# and .NET Core/.NET 5+ frameworks with strong OOP and async programming.
• Solid understanding of OOP and SOLID principles.
• 1+ years working on Azure Cloud with Azure App Services, Functions, API Management, Blob Storage, and Azure SQL.
• Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs with Swagger documentation and contract design.
• Proficiency in SQL Server, advanced queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Expertise in Entity Framework Core for ORM and data access optimization.
• Ability to optimize microservices for performance, caching, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest for .NET applications.
• Strong problem-solving and excellent communication for collaboration with frontend teams.

Responsibilities

• System Design and Development: Design, develop, and implement backend microservices for seamless integration with Angular or other frontends.
• Service Scalability and Maintainability: Build scalable, resilient microservices with high performance, security, and modularity.
• Collaboration and Teamwork: Work with product managers, data scientists, UX designers, DevOps, and QA for cohesive delivery.
• Quality Assurance and Standards: Follow coding standards and participate in in-depth code reviews.
• Process Optimization: Improve CI/CD pipelines, tooling, and release processes; contribute to sprint planning and Agile ceremonies.
• Technical Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and optimize model-serving pipelines, data transformations, and cloud infra.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in backend microservice development using C#.NET.
• Knowledge of C# and .NET Core/.NET 5+ frameworks, with a strong grasp of object-oriented programming, asynchronous programming, LINQ, and other advanced C# features.
• Robust understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and SOLID principles.
• 1+ years working on Azure Cloud.
  • Proficient with key Azure services relevant to backend development such as Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure API Management.
  • Experience with Azure Storage options like Blob Storage and Azure SQL Database.
  • Skills in Azure DevOps for building CI/CD pipelines and automating deployments.
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture principles and experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and independently deployable microservices using .NET.
• Extensive experience in designing and implementing RESTful APIs, understanding best practices for API security (e.g., OAuth, JWT), versioning, documentation (using Swagger or similar), and contract design.
• Proficiency in managing databases, particularly with SQL Server. Skills should include complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
• Expertise in Entity Framework Core for ORM, data access layer optimization, and performance.
• Ability to optimize microservices for performance and scalability, including proficiency with caching strategies and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as NUnit, xUnit, or MSTest for .NET applications.
• Advanced problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and implement effective solutions.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and to collaborate effectively with frontend teams and other IT professionals.

Job responsibilities

• System Design and Development: Design, development, and implementation of backend microservices to integrate seamlessly with Angular or other frontend applications.
• Service Scalability and Maintainability: Build scalable, resilient, and maintainable microservices, ensuring high performance, security, and usability. Develop modular and reusable service components that support dynamic workloads and parallel processing.
• Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with product managers, data scientists, and UX designers to understand functional requirements and translate them into backend architecture and service contracts. Collaborate with frontend developers, ML engineers, DevOps, and QA to ensure consistent delivery and integration across components.
• Quality Assurance and Standards: Follow coding best practices and consistent standards to maintain clean, maintainable, and production-grade codebases. Participate in in-depth code reviews to promote adherence to quality and performance standards.
• Process Optimization: Continuously identify and implement improvements in development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, tooling, and release processes to enhance productivity and delivery velocity. Provide technical input in sprint planning, story estimation, and Agile ceremonies to drive successful and timely project outcomes.
• Technical Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across services, including model serving, data transformation pipelines, and cloud infrastructure. Conduct performance profiling, bottleneck analysis, and optimization for critical backend systems. Ensure robustness and reliability of services, including implementing failover strategies, caching, and retry logic for model-serving components.
