Job summary

Xebia Group in Poland is seeking an experienced MLOps Platform Engineer to own the company-wide ML platform, including Vertex AI, GKE, and BigQuery. You will build self-service tooling for data scientists, ensure secure, cost-efficient operations, and partner with data teams.

The role requires 5+ years in MLOps, hands-on GCP, Kubernetes, Kubeflow Pipelines, Airflow, and a platform mindset. EU work authorization is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in MLOps, ML platform or platform engineering.
• 2+ years owning production ML infrastructure end to end.
• Hands-on production experience with GCP Vertex AI, GKE, BigQuery.
• Strong Kubernetes expertise; able to run and debug clusters.
• Pipeline orchestration with Kubeflow Pipelines or Vertex AI Pipelines and Airflow.
• GitOps for infrastructure and CI/CD for model deployment.
• Production-grade Python; testing and packaging.
• Platform mindset; self-service tooling with SLOs.
• Ability to work independently as the single owner of a company-wide platform.
• EU region work authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Own the ML platform infrastructure as part of the Data Infrastructure team.
• Own Vertex AI, Kubeflow Pipelines, and GKE-based training and serving infrastructure.
• Build templates, CI/CD, and self-service workflows for data scientists to ship models without tickets.
• Manage model lifecycle: registry, versioning, deployment, rollback, monitoring for drift and serving health.
• Support feature and training data flows across BigQuery and Airflow with data platform engineers.
• Manage infrastructure through GitOps with Config Sync and least-privilege access for PII and policy-tagged data.
• Manage GPU and compute usage, quotas, and per-team spend visibility.
• Take end-to-end ownership of the platform used by vertical teams to build, train, and serve models.
