EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead Java Full Stack Engineer to accelerate modernization across credit risk workflows, model integration, and DB2-related data modernization. The role sits in the risk management function, facilitating model-driven ratings within business workflows.

You will drive modernization of legacy models, integrate model runs with analytics, and collaborate with risk teams to ensure alignment with business needs. Hybrid work in Poland is offered, with potential for remote work.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering with a Java-first profile.
• Proficiency in Python for model and analytics integration.
• Familiarity with GitHub Copilot as a primary AI development tool, with the Claude app as secondary.
• Understanding of credit risk workflows, model integration, and business rating systems.
• Background in data modernization initiatives, including legacy database exit strategies such as DB2.
• Capability to work within an AI-driven SDLC environment and integrate quickly into existing modernization efforts.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

This role sits within the risk management function, where credit officers review counterparties through business workflows relying on model-generated ratings. Many of these models remain partly legacy and require modernization, with funding already allocated for data modernization initiatives, including DB2 exit work.

Responsibilities
