Job summary

CoverTree is seeking a Lead AI Software Engineer in Kraków with strong TypeScript and React expertise. Our serverless, IaC-based stack requires a self-motivated leader who values code quality and scalable design.

The role offers a hybrid work model with two days in the Kraków office and potential US timezone overlap. Stock options, yearly bonus, and AWS certification support are part of the package, plus unlimited PTO and annual trips to the US office.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in full-stack web development in the described tech stack.
• Experience building distributed, high-scale systems handling millions of visitors.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to work with AI-coding tools.
• Experience with modern cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and related tooling.
• Excellent communication in English and Polish, both written and verbal.
• Comfort with working in a hybrid setup and possible US timezone overlap.

• Collaborate with engineering, product and management to implement requirements and tech specs.
• Identify opportunities for architecture improvements and system optimization.
• Architect new systems and design APIs with focus on testability and maintainability.

Job Summary

We are looking for a Lead AI Software Engineer with strong experience in TypeScript and React. Our projects are built in Serverless way with 100% Infrastructure as Code. You have to be self-motivated, well organised and have strong passion for the quality of your solution!

We use hybid work-model with 2 days weekly from our office in northern part of Krakow, Poland.

Candidate must be able to work partially in US timezone (for example starting work between 9-11 am Polish time).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the engineering manager, engineering team, and product team to understand and implement requirements and tech specs
• Identify opportunities for architecture improvements and system optimisation and help to deliver them
• Architect new systems and design APIs with a focus on testability, and maintainability
• Drive high engineering standards on the team through code review, automated testing, and mentoring. We care what our code looks like, and you should too
• Reinvent a broken experience and disrupt a legacy industry through novel and scalable product design.

Candidate Background

• 5+ years of experience in full-stack web development (in our tech stack)
• A background in programming on the web and/or mobile development, and a natural curiosity about learning new technologies
• Experience in building distributed, high scale systems that handle millions of visitors
• Ability to take ownership, use AI-coding tools to your adventage
• Loves experiancing with new Models, harnesses, tools and share their knowledge enabling other team members.
• Can work in "Forward Deployed" manner - fully understands the product, context, processes - can adapt to them and implement new features without breaking anything in between.
• Be able to help less experianced team members
• Hands on experience in the cloud, preferably in AWS
• Curiosity and business acumen, and an ability to learn and take on new opportunities
• Good communication in English & Polish languages,
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
