Job summary

Cisco Systems in Kraków is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to join the App Runtime team. You will work on building tools for developers within Splunk stacks, creating a robust and user-friendly development experience, and collaborating across product management, UX, and documentation.

The role emphasizes Go, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud skills, with opportunities to grow through mentorship and teamwork in an Agile SDLC environment.

Qualifications

• Software engineering experience in SaaS application development.
• Experience in Go in a production environment.
• Knowledge about Docker, Kubernetes and other container technologies.
• Nice to have: Python knowledge.
• Nice to have: C++ knowledge.
• AWS or Azure experience.
• Understanding of computer networks.
• Knowledge of gRPC protocol.
• Knowledge of Linux internals preferred.
• Strong communication and comprehension skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, implementation and delivery of long-term software in accordance with given requirements and existing system architecture.
• Maintain existing technology stack and debug and fix issues.
• Work closely with product management, and architects and the team to build exciting features, reusable components and products.
• Create, enhance and encourage robust test suites for all code, with emphasis on automated testing and CI.
• Contribute to code reviews and apply insights from customer experiences to prevent future problems.
• Follow SDLC process in Agile methodology.

We are looking for motivated and passionate Junior Software Engineer to join our App Runtime team. Our area of expertise encompasses building a wide variety of tools for other developers to use in their respective Splunk stacks. We, as engineers, create the building blocks and/or environments for other engineers to implement and use. Your contributions will create a robust, adaptable and advanced user friendly development experience. Enrich and empower others to their fullest potential.

This role requires cross-team collaboration with our product management, user experience, and documentation teams, as well as technical leaders from other engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to design, implementation and delivery of long-term impact software in accordance with given requirements and existing system architecture.

Requirements:

Strong motivation to learn and improve technical skills.

Software engineering experience in SaaS application development.

Experience in Go in a production environment.

Knowledge about Docker , Kubernetes and other container technologies.

Nice to have:

• Python knowledge

• AWS or Azure experience
• Understanding of computer networks
• gRPC protocol insight

Knowledge of operating system (preferably Linux) inner-workings.

Strong communication and comprehension skills, both verbal and written.
