DOU Polska is seeking a Junior Backend (Python) Engineer to join a cross-border team. The role combines backend Python development with supporting a mobile web front-end and internal admin panels.

You will work on scalable APIs, real-time data processing, and feature ownership across the stack in a hybrid setup with 2+ days in the office. English proficiency (B2) is required for a distributed international team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Python backend development (FastAPI/Django/Flask).
• Strong understanding of geospatial data structures (GeoJSON, lat/long).
• Knowledge of cloud-native development principles.
• Experience using Docker for development.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Helm charts.

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale a React-based mobile web app for 60fps with offline-first support.
• Build dense Admin Panels for real-time logistics monitoring and dispatching.
• Design and maintain performant Python APIs to handle high-concurrency streams.
• Own feature lifecycle from database schema to UI transitions.

We’re looking for a Junior Backend (Python) Engineer to join our team.

Work Location: Poland (Krakow), Slovakia (Kosice) or Czechia (Prague). Hybrid: 2+ days per week in the office, the rest remote.

The Mission

We are building a complex, real-time ecosystem for micromobility and logistics systems sim—where split-second logistics meet seamless user experiences. We need a Junior Backend (Python) Engineer to work on the development of our Customer Mobile Web App and our high-utility Internal Admin Panels.

You’ll be the bridge between the sleek, high-performance interface our users see and the robust, scalable Python services that power the logic.

Key Responsibilities

• Mobile-First Frontend: Architect and scale our React-based mobile web application, ensuring 60fps performance and offline-first capabilities.


• Operational Control Centers: Build dense, data-heavy Admin Panels that allow our operations team to monitor real-time logistics, manage users, and handle complex dispatching.


• Scalable Backend: Design and maintain performant APIs using Python (FastAPI/Django) to handle high-concurrency event streams.


• End-to-End Ownership: From database schema design to CSS transitions, you’ll own the entire feature lifecycle.

Layer Technology

Frontend — React Native Expo, Styled Components, Mobx/Redux, WebSockets. Experience with Firebase, Expo SDK, Expo Modules.

Backend- Python (FastAPI / Django / Flask).

Requirements & Skills

• Proven experience in Python and backend development using FastAPI, Django, or Flask.


• Strong understanding of geospatial data structures (GeoJSON, latitude/longitude).


• Understand principles of cloud native development


• Usage of docker for development environment


• Familiar with Kubernetes (application lifecycle and environment)


• Familiar with Helm charts (their maintenance and usage)


• Familiar with ArgoCD, Grafana, Github


• Nice to have — familiarity with helmfile
