Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Junior Java Software Engineer to join a lean, autonomous team delivering scalable, high-performance platforms for external clients.

You will collaborate with world-class engineers, architects, and product managers, write documentation, and apply cloud and microservices principles to project development while growing your Java, CI/CD, and security skills in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience with Java, SQL, and unit testing.
• Knowledge of algorithms and data structures, continuous integration, and Google Cloud Platform.
• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Understanding of application security.
• Familiarity with Git or other version control systems.
• Excellent English communication skills (B2 level) with experience in client-facing communications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product managers to build and maintain scalable, high-performance platforms.
• Communicate directly with clients to collect and analyze their needs.
• Create necessary documentation, including PRDs, test cases, and design docs.
• Work independently as the sole developer on an app from idea to ready product when required.
• Deliver quality work on time while handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Apply cloud technologies and microservices architecture principles to project development.
• Question the status quo and seek individual mastery while working with autonomy.
• Contribute to a culture of purpose, transparency, and trust within the team.
• Approach problems by identifying root causes and justify compromises between quality and speed.
