Job summary

Sigma Software is seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer in Kraków to gain hands-on experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and automation. You will work with a seasoned DevOps team on international projects, contributing to infrastructure setup, monitoring, and secure operations in a collaborative environment.

You will learn IaC, containerization, and cloud-native practices while receiving mentorship from Senior and Principal-level professionals.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of hands-on experience with at least one public cloud: AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Solid understanding of Linux administration and networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS)
• Understanding of CI/CD principles and practical exposure to CI tools
• Understanding of containerization concepts and runtime environments
• Scripting in Shell and either Python or PowerShell
• Basic knowledge of IaC and configuration tools (Terraform and Ansible)
• Understanding of DevOps and SDLC processes
• Familiarity with databases, monitoring, logging, backup, storage, and security concepts
• Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts, TLS, and secret management
• Experience with AI assistants for validation and data security
• Strong communication and teamwork
• Upper-Intermediate English level

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, test, and maintain infrastructure across development, staging, testing, and production environments
• Contribute to Infrastructure as Code implementation following modules, conventions, and review processes
• Support CI/CD pipeline configuration, maintenance, release preparation, and deployment activities
• Investigate incidents by collecting logs, triaging, and documenting resolutions
• Configure monitoring checks, alerts, and participate in backups and recovery procedures
• Follow security best practices including least-privilege access and secure secrets handling
• Maintain infrastructure documentation, deployment instructions, architecture diagrams, and runbooks
• Collaborate with developers, QA, security specialists, and operations teams
• Continuously improve technical skills through mentoring, certifications, and project participation

Job Description

• Scripting experience using Shell and either Python or PowerShell
• General understanding of Infrastructure as Code and configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible
• Understanding of SDLC processes and DevOps principles
• Basic knowledge of databases, monitoring, logging, backup, storage, and security concepts
• Understanding of authentication and authorization concepts, TLS, and secure secrets management
• Experience using AI assistants responsibly while validating outputs and maintaining data security standards
• Good communication and collaboration skills
• At least an Upper-Intermediate level of English

WILL BE A PLUS

• Experience with Kubernetes or other orchestration platforms
• Hands-on experience with Terraform or Ansible in production environments
• Experience with centralized logging and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, CloudWatch, or Datadog
• Exposure to GitOps practices
• Familiarity with AI/LLM services or vector databases in infrastructure-related scenarios
• Cloud or Linux-related certifications
