Job summary

Valbin Corporation seeks an experienced Joint Fires Subject Matter Expert to support NATO training exercises at JFTC in Bydgoszcz, Poland. This contract role contributes to all Joint Fires aspects in multidomain operations and helps develop tactical-level challenges and exercise content.

Responsibilities include analyzing exercise goals, mentoring, and coordinating with multiple stakeholders to ensure cohesive exercise content. Requires NATO COP experience and active NATO SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• Exercise planning using NATO EPP in NATO and national contexts (OR-8 level or above).
• Practical experience in NATO COP and knowledge of doctrine and procedures at Brigade/Division/JOC level.
• Practical experience in NATO Joint Targeting for at least 5 years.
• Experience developing realistic exercise injects and operational challenges.
• Knowledge of NATO Targeting Process and Air Land Integration (ALI).
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft platforms and familiarity with AI-enabled tools for product development/management.
• English proficiency at NATO STANAG 6001 – 3333 level.
• Active NATO SECRET clearance issued by a NATO member nation.

Responsibilities

• Assist EXCON in analyzing TA Joint Fires Exercise Goals or TOs and set conditions to meet them.
• Identify TA knowledge gaps and develop Joint Fires tutorials or mentoring.
• Plan, develop and coordinate Dynamic/Free Play in a multidomain environment.
• Identify capability gaps, doctrinal issues, or procedural challenges in planning/execution.
• Liaise with HICON, LOCON, SIDECON, GREYCELL, WHITECELL, OPFOR and other SMEs.
• Coordinate with TA Leadership, STRATCOM, Legal Advisor, Political Advisor, Host Nations, Cross-JOA units, etc.

Job description

Valbin Corporation is seeking an experienced Joint Fires Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support NATO training exercises at the Joint Force Training Centre (JFTC) in Bydgoszcz, Poland. This role is responsible for contributing to all Joint Fires aspects of the exercise planning and execution within the framework of multidomain operations. This role will support the development of operational challenges at the tactical level, as well as assist in the development of exercise content and play in a dynamically changing environment.

Valbin Corporation’s mission is to provide linguistic support, cultural sensitivity training, project management, and exercise support services to the US Government, NATO, and private sector. Based in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Area, Valbin has an established and on-going partnership with the US Government through its GSA Schedule and the Valbin Mission Readiness Support Center.

Responsibilities

• Assist EXCON in analyzing the TA’s Joint Fires Exercise Goals or Training Objectives (TOs) and set the conditions to meet the TA’s Exercise Goals or TOs with regard to Joint Fires. If required, suggest options to resolve discrepancies to facilitate the achievement of Exercise Goals or TOs
• Identify TA’s knowledge gaps. Develop and provide Joint Fires learn tutorials or mentoring according to the TA’s needs, in the Development of the Joint Targeting and Joint Fires Campaign
• Plan, develop and coordinate the conduct of Dynamic/ Free Play in a multidomain environment, allowing to execute freedom of maneuver
• Identify capability gaps, doctrinal issues, or procedural challenges related to exercise planning and execution
• Liaise with HICON, LOCON, SIDECON, GREYCELL, WHITECELL, OPFOR and other functional SMEs in order to create coordinated exercise content
• Coordinate with other stakeholders, that support the Joint Fires Process (TA Leadership, STRATCOM, Legal Advisor, Political Advisor, Host Nations, Cross-JOA units, etc)

Requirements

• Exercise planning utilizing NATO Exercise Planning Process (EPP) within NATO environment and national level at the OR-8 level or above at retirement
• Practical experience in NATO comprehensive operational planning (COP), and knowledge of doctrine and procedures at Brigade, Division, Corps, MCLCC or Joint level
• Practical experience in NATO Joint Targeting for a minimum of 5 years
• Experience developing realistic exercise injects, incidents, and operational problems and challenges
• Have in-depth knowledge and practical experience with the NATO Targeting Process, as well as means and methods of Air Land Integration (ALI)
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft platforms and desirable familiarity with AI enabled tools for product development and management
• English proficiency at NATO STANAG 6001 – 3333 level
• Must possess an active NATO SECRET security clearance issued by a NATO member nation

Hours of Operation: Up to 30 man-days within calendar year
