Job description

Andersen is hiring a Java Developer for a large FinTech initiative, building a secure and scalable credit card management platform integrated into a major bank’s digital ecosystem.

Our customer is a major global company providing technology solutions for financial institutions and enterprises. It delivers secure, scalable systems and supports digital transformation across multiple regions. The organization focuses on innovation and efficient service delivery, offering a stable environment and a strong engineering culture.

The project is the development of a new credit card management system for a major bank, seamlessly integrated into the existing digital ecosystem. It is a large-scale initiative focused on building a secure, high-performance, and scalable platform to ensure efficient credit card lifecycle management and support the expansion of lending services.

Responsibilities
  • Designing, developing, and optimizing Java-based applications using Java 17 or 21, leveraging modern language features and performance best practices.
  • Building scalable and maintainable microservices using Spring Boot 3.x and relevant Spring Framework modules.
  • Developing and exposing RESTful APIs with Spring Web and implementing gRPC integrations for efficient inter-service communication.
  • Implementing API gateway patterns, routing, filters, and authentication/authorization hand-off using Spring Cloud Gateway.
  • Working with Spring Data JPA (Hibernate), JDBC, QueryDSL, and jOOQ for robust and efficient data access and manipulation.
  • Participating in CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance using GitLab/GitHub, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, SonarQube, and automated static/dynamic application security testing (SAST/DAST).
Requirements
  • Experience as a Java Developer (17 or 21) for 4+ years.
  • Experience in Fintech, Banking, or Credit card processing for 2+ years, including understanding of bank core systems and transaction flows.
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot 3.x and Spring Framework modules: Spring Cloud Gateway, Spring Data JPA (Hibernate), JDBC, QueryDSL/jOOQ, Spring Security (OIDC/JWT, RBAC).
  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/Oracle) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis).
  • Experience with Apache Kafka.
  • Experience with testing and QA tooling: JUnit 5, Testcontainers, Pact (contract tests), WireMock/MockServer, as well as load testing (k6/Gatling).
  • Experience with query performance tuning and database schema optimization.
  • Solid understanding of REST and gRPC communication patterns.
  • Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above.
Desired skills
  • Understanding of ISO-8583 fundamentals (authorization, reversal, advice flows) or similar transaction-processing APIs.
  • Knowledge of PCI-DSS practices: tokenization, PAN masking, HSM integration, audit trails.
  • Experience with Resilience4j (timeouts, retries, circuit breakers, bulkheads).
  • Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch.
