Job summary

Flix is seeking a skilled Java Engineer for a service agreement (B2B) to join the Network Planning team. You will design, develop, and deliver backend services and APIs to automate and simplify planning workflows, build event-driven integrations, and drive architectural decisions.

You will work with teams across engineering, product, and data to create scalable solutions in a distributed, Agile environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of backend experience, incl. Java or JVM languages
• Cloud environments experience, ideally AWS
• Experience with event-driven systems (Kafka) or Kubernetes
• Automated testing and emphasis on code quality
• Strong English and Agile experience

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain backend services and APIs for FlixTrain Network Planning workflows
• Develop data models and asynchronous, event-driven integrations between services
• Collaborate with internal users, product and engineers to translate needs into technical solutions
• Write and maintain automated tests to ensure reliability and maintainability
• Contribute to backend architecture decisions and drive quality across teams
• Document technical decisions and ways of working
