Job summary

GlobalLogic Inc. seeks a Systems Observability / DevOps Engineer to join the Hardware Optimization Team. You will engineer and automate the monitoring stack, write exporters in Go and Python, manage Prometheus data collection, and deliver Grafana dashboards.

Responsibilities include configuring exporters, building custom metrics, and optimizing dashboards while collaborating with software teams to improve observability across our compute infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, plus heavy Linux/SRE/DevOps experience.
• Strong Linux systems knowledge with Go, Python, and Perl automation.
• Hands-on experience configuring Prometheus exporters and Grafana dashboards.
• Deep understanding of systemd, services, networking, and logging for metrics exposure.

Job description

We are seeking a Systems Observability / DevOps Engineer to join our Hardware Optimization Team. In this role, you will be responsible for engineering and automating the monitoring and observability stack required to keep our compute infrastructure optimized by writing custom exporters in Go and Python, managing Prometheus data collection, and delivering production dashboards in Grafana.

Requirements

Preferred qualifications & skills

• Education & experience: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, plus heavy experience in Linux systems engineering and DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
• OS & Systems Engineering: Strong Linux systems knowledge and administration proficiency, backed by hands‑on development and automation experience using Go, Python, and Perl.
• Observability & Telemetry: Hands‑on experience configuring and managing Prometheus exporters, writing advanced PromQL queries, and designing insightful Grafana visualization dashboards.
• Infrastructure Knowledge: Deep understanding of systemd services, process supervision, network configurations, and system logging, particularly regarding how system metrics are exposed and collected

Job responsibilities

• Configure, automate, and maintain Prometheus exporters and telemetry agents across bare‑metal compute hosts and Linux environments.
• Develop custom metrics exporters, diagnostic scripts, and systems automation tools using Go, Python, and Perl.
• Build, optimize, and maintain Grafana dashboards and PromQL alert rules to deliver real‑time visibility into system states and performance.
• Troubleshoot OS‑level service degradation, systemd unit dependencies, and performance bottlenecks across compute hardware using metrics data.
• Validate infrastructure health, service metrics, and telemetry data reliability for core compute environments. Partner with software engineering teams to resolve operational bottlenecks, establish SLIs/SLOs, and improve overall system observability.
