Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer & SRE to operate and improve a Kubernetes-based API platform across public and private clouds. You will focus on automation, tooling, and incident management to keep services reliable and scalable.

You will own incident response, runbooks, and oncall documentation while onboarding new clients and driving efficiency through automation. This role offers flextime with remote and office options and exposure to Fortune 500 projects.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on Kubernetes production experience.
• Strong Linux and command line fundamentals.
• Experience with public cloud providers (Azure or AWS).
• Ability to debug and troubleshoot complex systems end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a Kubernetes-based platform across clouds.
• Leverage observability tools and keep runbooks up to date.
• Lead incident response, RCA, and post-incident reviews.
• Onboard new clients and build automation tools to reduce manual work.
• Identify process improvements and ensure platform capacity scales.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Infrastructure Engineer & SRE to operate and improve a Kubernetes-based API platform across public and private cloud environments, including automation, tooling, and incident management.

MUST HAVES

• Hands-on experience of at least 4 years operating Kubernetes in production, ideally with Service Mesh.
• Strong Linux and command line fundamentals.
• Confident debugging and troubleshooting complex systems, from the application layer through to lower-level infrastructure.
• Experience working with a public cloud provider, preferably Azure or AWS.

NICE TO HAVES

• Working knowledge of Grafana, Prometheus, Loki and Tempo is a plus.
• Scripting or coding in Python or Java is a strong plus.
• CI/CD, infrastructure as code such as Helm or Terraform is a plus.
• Financial services background is not required.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Operate and maintain the Kubernetes-based platform across public and private cloud environments.
• Work with observability tooling to ensure alerts are actionable through up-to-date runbooks and documentation.
• Manage incidents from end-to-end, including incident response, root cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.
• Onboard and support new clients onto the platform.
• Build automation and diagnostic tooling that cuts manual effort and evaluates performance.
• Identify and deliver process improvements.
• Support software and hardware upgrades and keep components up to date.
• Proactively manage capacity so the platform scales with demand.
