With a team of approximately 170 talented professionals, we deliver essential services across Finance, Tax, Legal, Marketing, IT and Business Process Management—ensuring operational excellence and enabling innovation across Embla Medical worldwide.

Your role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Business Partner for a 6‑month project, who will play a key role in shaping our workplace culture, partnering with leadership, and ensuring that our HR practices support our business objectives.

You’ll be working from our modern office right in the center of Szczecin while being part of our global People Team. Given the strong on‑site presence of key stakeholders, this role requires working from the office at least three days per week. The role reports to the People Director Europe, located in The Netherlands, and works closely with the Site Leader in Szczecin as well as various other local and global stakeholders. Additionally, you will be supported by an HR Generalist, ensuring you have the resources and assistance needed to effectively deliver on your objectives.

Our team in Szczecin has recently transferred business, which creates a great opportunity for the HR Business Partner to develop our People (HR) practices, ensuring alignment with Polish labor law as well as with our global People practices.

Your tasks:
  • Partner with management as a trusted advisor on talent, performance, employee relations, and organizational change.
  • Develop and implement HR initiatives aligned with business goals.
  • Ensure compliance with Polish labor law and company policies, including short-term priorities such as establishing the Social Fund and ensuring compliant, competitive compensation and benefits.
  • Drive employee and leadership development through talent reviews, succession planning, and targeted growth initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with Talent Acquisition on employer branding to attract and retain talent.
  • Work with global Centers of Excellence (Talent & OD, TA, Total Rewards, Payroll, People Technology) to ensure effective delivery of their services.
  • Lead and support global HR programs, ensuring successful local rollout.
  • Oversee development activities and facilitate training sessions.
  • Model our core values and help foster a culture of honesty, frugality, and courage.
What you’ll bring:
  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor Law or related field.
  • At least 7 years of proven HR Business Partnering experience in an international or matrix environment.
  • Fluency in Polish and English.
  • Strong knowledge of Polish labor law and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to engage senior leaders and diverse teams.
  • Proactive, solutions‑oriented mindset with the ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change, including stakeholder engagement and communication.
What we offer:

At Embla Medical, our Icelandic roots inspire a culture of flat hierarchies, strong team spirit, and genuine collegiality.

  • Purpose & Impact: Your work will directly shape our product strategy and improve lives globally.
  • An international team culture – Collaborate with colleagues across borders in a diverse and inclusive environment.
  • Private medical care – Comprehensive health coverage to support your well‑being.
  • Modern workspace – Work from our Scandinavian‑style office in the heart of Szczecin (The Oxygen), designed for comfort and creativity.
  • Growth & Development: Collaborate with industry leaders and grow your career in a dynamic, international environment.
  • Flexible work model: Balance remote work with in‑person collaboration to suit your lifestyle and productivity.
