Job summary

A leading global insurtech company is looking for a Health Insurance Subject Matter Expert to shape its health insurance product capabilities, providing deep domain expertise in the product development lifecycle. The role entails translating health insurance processes into clear product requirements, conducting market research, and collaborating closely with product teams to ensure delivery of compliant and competitive features. Ideal candidates should have extensive experience in the insurance industry, particularly in health insurance, and possess strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• At least 12 years of experience in the insurance industry with operations exposure.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience specifically in health insurance.
• Deep understanding of health insurance lifecycle from product setup to claims.
• Having a Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Certificate in Insurance is highly desirable.
• Deep understanding of the full health insurance lifecycle, including product setup, policy administration, claims, billing, renewals, and regulatory considerations.
• Proven ability to create clear, structured documentation such as process flows, requirements, and functional specifications.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex insurance concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience working cross-functionally with product, technology, and business teams.
• Critical, forward thinker, innovator, and problem solver in a fast-paced, product-driven, globally distributed environment.
• Experience working with insurance systems or digital transformation initiatives is a plus.
• Exposure to multiple markets or global health insurance products is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support product team with health insurance expertise through feature development.
• Translate insurance processes into product requirements.
• Conduct market research to identify gaps and trends in health insurance.
• Contribute to product planning, roadmap discussions, and prioritization from a health insurance perspective.
• Participate actively in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate functionality, workflows, and business logic.
• Ensure the quality, accuracy, and market relevance of health insurance features delivered on the platform.
• Work hands-on with product and engineering teams during delivery to clarify requirements and resolve domain-related questions.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, partners, and insurers, to gather feedback and validate product direction.
• Support the positioning of CoverGo’s health insurance capabilities across global markets by contributing domain knowledge to sales, pre-sales, and marketing efforts when needed.

What You’ll Do

The Health Insurance Subject Matter Expert (SME) will play a critical role in shaping and building CoverGo’s health insurance product capabilities. Working closely with product, engineering and delivery teams, this role brings deep health insurance domain expertise into the product development lifecycle to ensure features are accurate, compliant, competitive, and aligned with real‑world insurance operations. This role bridges the gap between insurance operations and technology, ensuring our platform meets the needs of insurers across global markets.

• Support the product team throughout the feature development lifecycle by providing deep health insurance expertise and operational insights.
• Translate end‑to‑end health insurance processes (e.g. underwriting, policy administration, claims, renewals, billing) into clear product requirements and functional documentation.
• Conduct competitor and market research to identify feature gaps, best practices, and emerging trends in global health insurance.
• Contribute to product planning, roadmap discussions, and prioritization from a health insurance perspective.

What We Need
