What you will do:

As Head of Development you will be a proactive leader with responsibility for driving our product development and ensuring a scalable and strong IT infrastructure. This role is critical for ensuring that our SaaS platform is scaled with a commercial mindset alongside Sales, Marketing and CX.

Key Responsibilities

• Ownership of executing the company’s long‑term product strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with Plecto’s business goals and market opportunities.
• Driving AI optimisation both within the product and in product development such as with Claude code or other.
• Oversee the entire software development lifecycle for our data‑intensive web and mobile applications, ensuring efficient feature delivery and maintaining technical debt at manageable levels.
• Oversee and optimise our cloud hosting, infrastructure and costs, balancing performance with financial efficiency.
• Ensure a stable high‑performing product, managing incidents and pager duty.
• Implement robust risk management protocols, compliance (including GDPR), and best practices for system security.
• Define internal processes, cross‑department collaboration and efficiency.
• Act as a technical escalation point, getting hands‑on with critical incidents, complex architectural challenges and performance bottlenecks to ensure swift resolution.
• Lead, mentor and inspire a global product team consisting of 10 employees split between Aarhus and Warsaw.
• Establish and enforce best practices in agile development, AI, quality assurance and DevOps.
• Champion a culture of technical excellence, continuous learning, accountability and collaboration.

Required Technical Expertise

• Executive Experience: 3+ years in a senior technology leadership role.
• High‑performance Track Record: Proven experience from other SaaS companies is strongly preferred.
• Technology Stack: Hands‑on experience with our core technologies, specifically Python, Django, React, and Kubernetes.
• Data Infrastructure: Experience working with data‑intensive web and mobile applications and familiarity with operating and scaling Elasticsearch clusters.
• Compliance & Security: Solid background in managing GDPR, compliance, and incident handling within a cloud environment.
• AI: Experience with using AI both internally and in the product.

You will be working remote but with expectations of regular visits to our office in Aarhus (Denmark).
