Job summary

Simonyan Consulting is a remote, early-stage hardware startup building robotics for demanding field environments. You will own both internal and public design, working with a small team across PST hours.

This is a contract-to-hire role with flexible, fast-moving briefs and a strong emphasis on creativity and self-direction. The role requires a strong portfolio, solid video editing skills, and proficiency in Figma, with comfort around engineering teams and independent time management.

Qualifications

• Strong design portfolio, ideally with tech or hardware work.
• Proficient video editing (Premiere/DaVinci/Final Cut) with After Effects or similar.
• Confident in Figma and rapid prototyping.
• Comfortable collaborating with engineers and hardware teams.
• Able to work independently and manage time across zones.
• Available during PST hours; contract-to-hire arrangement.

We're an early-stage hardware startup building robotics hardware for demanding field environments. Small team, moving quickly, and we're looking for a designer to own everything internal and public.

What You'll Do

• Design social posts and campaign assets
• Build presentations and decks - investor, customer and internal
• Edit video for social, product and launch content
• Create graphics, thumbnails and other visual assets
• Make small updates to our website - copy, images, new job listings

What We're Looking For

• A strong design portfolio, ideally with work for tech or hardware companies
• Solid video editing (Premiere, DaVinci or Final Cut, plus After Effects or similar)
• Confident in Figma
• Comfortable around hardcore engineering
• Able to work independently and manage your own time
• Available during PST hours - contract to hire

How We Work

This is a remote role on an international team across several time zones. Hours are flexible, but PST availability is a hard requirement as that's when the team's day runs. You'd be our first designer, so there's no brand book to follow and nobody to hand things off to. We move fast, briefs are short, and priorities change often, so we're looking for someone very creative who's happy switching between tasks, is dynamic and self-directed. Good spoken English matters.
