Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Senior Inventory Accounting Leader to oversee a team of 5+ professionals responsible for inventory-related accounting and control across a global business. You will drive close processes, ensure SOX compliance, and partner with Finance, Operations, and Shared Services to improve accuracy and efficiency.

You will mentor staff, implement process improvements, and lead cross-functional initiatives to strengthen governance, accuracy, and timely reporting in a hybrid work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in audit, accounting, or finance.
• 3+ years of people leadership experience.
• Fluent English language proficiency.
• Strong expertise in accounting standards.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of 5+ accounting professionals responsible for inventory-related technical accounting activities.
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end close activities, including review and approval of complex journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and inventory accounting transactions.
• Oversee goods receipt not invoiced, goods in transit, excess and obsolete inventory, costing, and inventory reserves.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, and shared services to support financial reporting and book closure.
• Apply and monitor US GAAP requirements across inventory accounting processes.
• Support internal and external audits, including control testing and SOX compliance activities.
• Drive process improvements, standardization, system enhancements, and transitions to increase efficiency and controls.
• Serve as the primary contact for inventory accounting inquiries and guidance on technical accounting matters.
