Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a GIS commissioning specialist based in Poland to drive commissioning activities for Gas Insulated Switchgear across diverse, international project sites. The role requires heavy travel (80–90%) and hands-on engineering expertise in GIS systems.

You will work with global teams to ensure safety, quality, and timely project execution while documenting findings and preparing commissioning reports.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct commissioning activities for Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) systems per design specs and standards.
• Perform pre-commissioning inspections and tests and document results.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely project execution and safety.
• Provide technical support and training to local teams and clients for GIS systems.
• Document findings, prepare commissioning reports, and communicate status to stakeholders.
• Adapt to various working conditions and cultures while maintaining health and safety.

How You’ll Make An Impact

• Conduct commissioning activities for Gas Insulated Switchgear systems, ensuring they are installed and functioning according to design specifications and industry standards.


• Perform pre-commissioning inspections and tests to verify the integrity and compliance of electrical systems before they go live and execute functional and performance testing of GIS equipment, documenting results and addressing any discrepancies or issues.


• Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely and efficient project execution, contributing to the electrification of communities and industries while maintaining high safety standards.


• Prioritize health and safety by adhering to all safety protocols and regulations, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your team and provide technical support and training to local teams and clients, empowering them to operate and maintain GIS systems effectively and safely.


• Document findings, prepare commissioning reports, and communicate effectively with stakeholders about the status and performance of commissioned systems.


• Adapt to various working conditions and cultures while maintaining a positive attitude and a strong commitment to health and safety practices.

What You Bring

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent technical experience.


• Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to engineering challenges.


• Willingness to travel extensively, with availability for travel abroad 80-90% of the time.


• Fluency in English, with outstanding communication skills, is essential.


• A proactive attitude and a passion for learning and professional growth.
