Sii Poland in Kraków is seeking a Data Engineer with a strong Java background to join a global team responsible for developing a strategic cloud-based risk platform. You will design and operate scalable data pipelines and microservices processing real-time and batch data.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience with Java and OO design (SOLID/DRY/KISS).
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and related ecosystems.
• Proven ability to design scalable data processing pipelines.
• Strong track record building REST APIs and distributed applications.
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Good understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices (Jenkins, Groovy).
• Advanced level of English.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are looking for a Data Engineer with a strong Java background to join a global team (based in Cracow) responsible for developing and enhancing a strategic cloud-based risk platform. You will work on scalable data pipelines and microservices that process large volumes of real-time and batch data, supporting critical business functions. Working in an agile environment, you will collaborate with engineers and stakeholders across multiple locations to deliver innovative solutions and contribute to the ongoing evolution of a modern, data-driven platform.

Your tasks

• Designing and delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions based on business requirements
• Integrating internal systems with a focus on efficient data processing and cost optimization
• Developing and maintaining solution blueprints for market data ingestion and processing
• Reviewing and improving existing data pipelines, microservices, and peer solutions
• Collaborating with engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
• Implementing best practices for logging, monitoring, error handling, and automated recovery
• Promoting automated testing, including unit and regression tests, within a test-driven development approach

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience with Java and object-oriented design principles (SOLID, DRY, KISS)
• Hands-on knowledge of Spring Boot and its ecosystem
• Proven ability to design and implement scalable data processing pipelines
• Strong track record in building REST APIs and distributed applications
• Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL and Bigtable
• Good understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices, including Jenkins and Groovy scripting
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• Advanced level of English
