Role Overview
We are looking for a highly analytical Fraud & Risk Business Analyst to play a leading role in detecting and preventing fraud across sportsbooks, casino, payments, and customer behaviour. The role will focus heavily on real-time fraud monitoring, retrospective fraud analysis, payment-risk investigation, and AML-related behavioural detection.
You will work closely with other data analysts and other internal teams to develop new tools, improve existing fraud-reporting frameworks, quantify fraud exposure, and proactively identify suspicious patterns across the business.
While the primary focus is on fraud detection, during the role, you will also support and be responsible for wider general business performance analytics when required.
Key Responsibilities
- To monitor real-time behavioural, transactional, device, and IP data to identify suspicious activity across sportsbooks, casinos or both.
- To detect multi-accounting, account takeovers, device/IP similarities, bot-like behaviour, sharp betting anomalies, and other fraud-related patterns.
- To investigate payment fraud, including mismatched cardholder details, abnormal deposit/withdrawal behaviour, chargeback, rejected transactions, rapid fund cycling, and high-risk payment patterns.
- To support AML monitoring by identifying structured transactions, wash-betting strategies, low-risk betting used to clean funds, and financial behaviour inconsistent with customer profiles.
- To conduct retrospective fraud investigations to quantify financial exposure, detect historical patterns, identify related accounts, and improve fraud-detection rules.
- To develop and enhance fraud dashboards, automated alerts, scoring systems, and internal monitoring tools.
- Collaborate closely with Data, Payments, Compliance, Trading, and Product teams to validate fraud cases and refine detection logic.
- Report to not only department managers but also external clients regarding findings expressed above.
Tools, Development & Data Support
- Using previous experience and knowledge, collaborate with the Data Analysts to design and implement new fraud-detection logic, metrics, and analytical models.
- Test newly developed tools, dashboards, and features before deployment, ensuring high accuracy, performance and efficiency.
- Improve the quality, structure, and automation of Fraud and AML reporting.
Business Analytics
- Analyse business performance across Sportsbook, Casino, Virtual games, Fantasy sports, and bonus campaigns when required.
- This also includes areas such as brand-specific Bonusing and Promotional features.
- Translate complex datasets into clear insights for senior management.Support process optimisation and automation initiatives within the Data-BI team.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience, including prior work in fraud detection, payment-risk analysis, and AML monitoring within the betting/iGaming sector.
- Strong understanding of sportsbook, casino, customer behaviour, and transactional flows with previous experience.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify unusual patterns and interpret complex datasets. Including a strong ability to identify potential reporting errors.
- Proficiency with data-visualisation tools (Power BI) and strong Excel knowledge.
- Confidence to work with Data Analysts, Compliance teams, Trading teams, and Risk teams.
- Strong communication and reporting skills, especially for presenting fraud insights and cases to not only internal teams but also external partners when needed.
- Ability to work three days per week in the Warsaw office.
