Job summary

Sii Poland is seeking a Forward Deployed AI Engineer in Warsaw to work side by side with client teams, turning ideas into concrete AI products and prototypes. You’ll scope, estimate, and budget projects, and build LLM-powered solutions with fast user feedback.

You’ll own the path from first conversations to production, using foundation models, APIs, and modern AI frameworks. Fluent Polish and English, plus a pragmatic product mindset, are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years in software engineering with real user-facing LLM apps.
• Proficient Python and hands-on with LLM APIs, RAG, tool calling, and agent frameworks.
• Daily use of AI development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor.
• Product-minded with MVP thinking and measurable outcomes.
• Excellent communication with business stakeholders.
• Experience scoping and estimating software or AI projects, incl. risk.
• Self-starter with fast learning of new tech.
• Advanced Polish and English; residency in Poland.

Job description

You sit with the business, not behind it. As a Forward Deployed AI Engineer, you’ll work side by side with our clients’ teams, find the problems worth solving, and ship AI products that solve them in weeks, not quarters. Part of the job is telling clients honestly what makes sense and what doesn’t, and explaining why. You own the whole path: from the first conversation with a business owner, through scoping, estimating, and budgeting the work, to a working prototype and a product in real use.
Can’t remember how to derive the backpropagation formula? Last saw a partial derivative in your second year at university? Don’t worry, nobody here will ask you to prove your loss function is differentiable. In this role, success means business impact. You’ll use foundation models, APIs, and modern AI frameworks to build products that solve real problems. You’ll prototype quickly, put things in front of users early, and use what you learn to decide what to build next. The AI landscape changes every few months, so you’ll need to pick up new tools and approaches as fast as they appear and judge which ones matter.
You’ll have a lot of autonomy and real influence. We’re looking for someone who spots opportunities, proposes solutions, and drives them forward without waiting to be told what to do. You’ll also help shape the strategy and growth of our AI business unit, so what you learn on projects will directly influence where we go next.

Your tasks

• Work embedded with client business teams to turn their ideas into concrete, buildable product concepts

• Scope, estimate, and budget projects, including key risks and how to mitigate them, and clearly communicate to clients what’s worth building and what isn’t
• Build and ship LLM-powered products: assistants, agentic workflows, and integrations with business systems
• Bring a product perspective: define success metrics, prioritize by business value, and measure real impact
• Proactively propose solutions and keep up with new models and tools as the landscape evolves
• Contribute to the strategy and growth of our AI business unit, from service offerings to reusable solutions

Requirements

• At least 4 years in software engineering, including shipping LLM-based applications that real users rely on
• Pragmatic Python skills and hands‑on experience with LLM APIs, RAG, tool calling, and agent frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or equivalent)
• Daily, practical use of AI software development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor. They’re central to how we build, and you should know how to get real speed out of them
• A product mindset: you think in MVPs, user feedback, and measurable outcomes
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly to business stakeholders
• Experience scoping and estimating software or AI projects, including effort, cost, and risk
• A self‑starter attitude: you take ownership, work with minimal supervision, and learn new technologies fast
• Advanced level of Polish and English
• Residency in Poland

Nice to have

• Frontend skills for quick prototypes and demos (e.g., React, Streamlit, Gradio)
• Startup, product company, or founder experience
• Background in a specific business domain (financial services, manufacturing, healthcare, public sector)
• Working knowledge of a major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP)
