Job summary

Bilfinger is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Engineer with a strong focus on business development in Poland and neighboring Eastern European markets. You will design fire protection and life safety systems, identify new business opportunities, and build relationships with clients and EPC contractors.

The role requires a proven track record in proposal preparation, negotiation, and delivering technical presentations. A hybrid work model and professional growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Fire Protection, Instrumentation or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in design of Fire protection, Fire & Life Safety and related business development.

Responsibilities

• Design Fire protection, Fire detection & alarm systems per local and international standards.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities for Fire Protection and related services.
• Coordinate with engineering team to develop technical and commercial proposals.
• Prepare, submit and negotiate technical and commercial proposals.
• Maintain an opportunity pipeline and provide sales forecasts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design of Fire protection system, Fire detection & alarm system and Fire and Life safety as per local and international standards
• Identify and develop new business opportunities for Fire Protection, Fire & Life Safety and Fire & Gas Engineering Consultancy services
• Develop and maintain a database of Polish end users, developers, EPC contractors, architects, general contractors, and industrial facility operators
• Generate qualified leads through market analysis, networking, industry events, and client engagement
• Build strong relationships with key decision-makers within client organizations
• Conduct client meetings to understand project requirements and identify engineering consultancy opportunities
• Deliver technical and business presentations showcasing the company's capabilities and value proposition
• Coordinate with the engineering team to develop technical solutions and commercial proposals
• Prepare, submit, and negotiate technical and commercial proposals
• Follow up on submitted proposals and actively drive opportunities through to Purchase Order (PO) award
• Maintain an opportunity pipeline and provide regular sales forecasts and progress reports
• Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and upcoming projects
• Support prequalification submissions, vendor registrations, and framework agreements
• Participate in exhibitions, conferences, and industry networking events to enhance business visibility

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Fire Protection, Instrumentation, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
• 5+ years of experience in design of Fire protection, Fire detection & alarm system, Fire & Life safety and associated business development, sales, or technical marketing within Fire Protection, Fire & Gas Consultancy
• Experience in design of Fire Protection and Fire & Gas detection system in Eastern European countries
• Familiarity with applicable Polish Construction Law (Prawo Budowlane) and Fire Protection Act (Ustawa o Ochronie Przeciwpożarowej), including relevant PN-EN54, PN-EN12845 standards, together with familiarity with international standards such as NFPA, FM Global, ISO, and client standards (e.g., ORLEN S.A., Grupa Azoty S.A. and other clients) is an advantage
• Authorized by State Fire Service to work as Fire Safety Expert to certify Fire protection, Fire & Life safety drawings for local authority approval
• Proven experience in proposal preparation, client presentations, and contract negotiations
• Communicative level of English (minimum B2)
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Key Technical Skills in Fire protection and detection system:

Independently shall be able to prepare following deliverables as per Local standards and international standards

• Fire Protection Design Basis Report
• Fire Water Demand Calculation
• Sprinkler Design Calculations
• Fire water Hydraulic Calculations
• Fire Fighting Layouts
• Equipment Specification and Datasheets
• Fire Compartmentation Drawings
• Fire Escape Drawings
