For our client, we're hiring a Finance Transformation & Data Governance Senior Accountant to drive finance change initiatives and strengthen data governance across Finance & Actuarial systems. This role blends strong accounting/reporting expertise with project management, testing ownership, and close cooperation with IT and business teams.

Client Details

Our client operates in the insurance sector and is recognized for a values-driven culture built around prudence, integrity, foresight, and a human approach. The role is Warsaw-based with a hybrid model (1 day/week from the office).

Description
  • Lead finance workstreams within business changes: assess impact, define required outcomes, and ensure teams are ready for go-live
  • Translate finance/actuarial needs into clear requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria for system and process changes
  • Build clarity around "what the data means" (definitions, calculations, lineage) and keep documentation actionable and up to date
  • Strengthen governance and controls around data, tools, interfaces and reporting outputs; flag risks early and drive resolution
  • Own testing cycles (UAT/regression/compatibility): plan, coordinate, track defects, and secure sign-offs
  • Ensure smooth handover to BAU teams through training, playbooks, and practical documentation
  • Partner with IT and external vendors to deliver scalable solutions and process improvements, including automation opportunities
  • Communicate complex finance + tech topics in a simple way to non-technical stakeholders
Profile
  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, (or similar)
  • ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) qualified, or close to qualification with strong, relevant experience
  • 8+ years in financial reporting / accounting processes, ideally in a regulated environment
  • Proven track record delivering finance system/data changes (upgrades, migrations, process redesign, reporting transformations)
  • Solid understanding of data governance and control frameworks (ownership, reconciliations, auditability, quality checks)
  • Hands-on exposure to finance/reporting ecosystems (e.g., Oracle, Tagetik, SAP BusinessObjects or comparable tools)
  • Comfortable running UAT end-to-end and producing clear, structured documentation
  • Strong stakeholder skills across Finance, Actuarial, IT and vendors
  • Fluent English (spoken & written)
  • Proactive, detail-focused, adaptable in a multi-priority environment
