We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer with competency in LPG and/or LNG systems to enhance our capability of performing lifecycle support tasks for Nord Gas Solutions - formerly Wärtsilä Gas Solutions product family. We offer you interesting tasks in a multicultural environment.
The Service Engineer gives technical support to internal and external customers after handover of the systems from Engineering and Execution departments to Services department (during warranty and lifecycle period).
The Service Engineer participates in product improvement and development activities, however main supports are related to field service activities and conducting technical investigations into the issues encountered in the field.
Location: Primarily Gdynia, Poland but ither locations can be evaluated
Main Responsibilities
- Execute field service activities in accordance with Nord Gas Solutions procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements, ensuring cost-effective delivery.
- Perform troubleshooting, testing, fine-tuning, adjustments, and performance optimization of equipment.
- Independently carry out complex repairs, maintenance activities, and complete overhauls.
- Execute warranty, commissioning, and handover activities for customers and shipyards.
- Provide technical support and operator training to vessel crews and customers.
- Provide internal and external progress updates for assigned work, prepare detailed service reports, technical documentation, and maintenance recommendations.
- Participate in mission briefings and debriefings.
- Collect, organize, and submit time sheets, expense reports, and other required administrative records.
- Ensure compliance with Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) standards and customer site procedures.
- Raise EHS and Non-Conformance Reports as required to support continuous improvement and lessons learned.
- Conduct customer satisfaction surveys following service assignments.
- Supervise Nord GS personnel and subcontractors on-site.
- Promote Nord GS products, services, and solutions to customers.
- Support other departmental activities as assigned by the Line Manager.
Requirements
- Minimum BSc degree in Process, Automation, Mechanical, Marine, Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Strong knowledge of marine Fuel Gas Supply Systems (FGSS), cryogenic equipment, gas compressors, pumps, valves, instrumentation, and automation.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, technical drawings, and control system documentation.
- Experience with PLC-based control systems and field instrumentation is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience in process, mechanical, and electrical disciplines related to LPG, LNG, VOC, REGAS, Inert Gas, or Flare Gas systems.
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively worldwide.
- Valid work visa or work authorization for the hiring location (Poland, Spain, Norway, or other applicable location). A valid US work visa is considered an advantage.
- Fluent English, both written and spoken.
- Able to obtain medical and offshore certificates.
- Strong service-oriented and team-focused mindset.
- Structured, self-motivated, with analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Previous experience from Maritime (Ship/FPSO), Oil & Gas and/or Process industry is highly recommended.
- Field Service experience (onshore/offshore) is highly recommended.
- Previous experience of LPG and/or LNG systems is beneficial.
