Job Description

CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a Expert External Development Artist with a focus on Environments to join our studio to work on Project Sirius - a multiplayer game set in The Witcher universe.
In this foundational role, you will play a crucial part in developing a world-class pipeline, facilitating seamless collaboration between external vendors and internal teams. You will also be responsible for reviewing work quality and expanding your team.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning a robust External Development pipeline from the ground up - workflows, software solutions, etc.
  • Working with Directors, Leads, and Producers to create an outsource strategy.
  • Collaborate with our procurement staff in finding and vetting outsource partners.
  • Training of vendors in our workflows and performance standards.
  • Providing artistic and technical feedback to external partners via documentation and direct communication.
  • Integrating approved assets into the game engine as necessary.
  • Modeling and texturing assets which fit the established style of the game.
  • Setting up materials and shaders to achieve the best possible quality.
  • Reviewing and/or creating briefs from internal teams to ensure they meet the needs of vendors.
  • Cooperating effectively with other artists and designers and ensuring good practices within internal and external teams.
  • Providing the team with clear and transparent progress status regarding the ongoing work.
  • Maintaining the production pipeline and meeting deadlines
Qualifications
  • At least 8 years of experience working in the video game industry as an Environment Artist.
  • Shipped at least one AAA title.
  • Proficiency with modern, standard development packages.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 5.
  • Good knowledge of composition, color theory and lighting.
  • Basic knowledge of physically based rendering (PBR).
  • Experience with procedural content creation packages (Substance, Houdini) is a plus.
  • Able to deliver and receive feedback in a productive and accountable manner.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Avid and passionate gamer.
  • Fluent English (both written and spoken).
