Job summary

Abroadjobsineurope is seeking an excavator operator to work on diverse construction sites across Europe. You will operate hydraulic excavators, bulldozers, and forklifts, digging trenches and moving earth while supporting site teams in safety-compliant ways.

Read site plans, perform routine maintenance, adjust attachments, and document daily activities. A valid driver’s license, excavator ticket, and good English are required; strong physical fitness is essential.

Qualifications

• Must have worked in street environments and not just bulk earthworks.
• Experience digging around footpaths and avoiding cables.
• Solid understanding of Health and Safety on construction sites.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Physical fitness suitable for demanding outdoor work.
• Solution-focused with forward planning and adaptability.
• Strong customer relation skills and composure under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydraulic or cable-operated excavators to dig trenches and foundations as specified.
• Perform routine maintenance: lubrication, refueling, cleaning.
• Read and interpret site plans and blueprints for location depths.
• Coordinate excavation with other team activities and safety protocols.
• Adjust attachments and equipment settings as tasks vary.
• Monitor site conditions to prevent over-digging and protect nearby structures.
• Document daily activities, hours, maintenance, and deviations.
