Job summary

Bayer in Warsaw is seeking a Lead Software Architect to drive the architecture and evolution of a scalable platform supporting internal processes across a global organization.

You will lead architecture governance, define technology strategy and transformation roadmaps, design secure, scalable systems with microservices and APIs, and advance DevOps practices while mentoring engineers and engaging senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in IT including software development, architecture and leadership.
• 7+ years in Enterprise or Solution Architecture or similar role.
• Experience with architecture governance and roadmaps.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Lead Software Architect

Warsaw

Join our Enterprise Enablement platform and lead the architecture and evolution of a scalable platform supporting critical internal processes across a global organization.

We’re looking for an experienced technology leader with a strong background in Enterprise Architecture, architecture governance, technology strategy, and multi-year roadmaps. You’ll influence enterprise-wide standards, guide architectural decisions, and drive long-term technology transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architecture governance across business domains, engineering teams, and applications.
• Define technology strategy, enterprise standards, principles, and transformation roadmaps.
• Design scalable, secure systems using modern architecture, microservices, APIs, and integrations.
• Drive DevOps, CI/CD, engineering excellence, and technical risk management.
• Lead collaboration with senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Translate complex technology decisions into business outcomes.
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 12+ years in IT, including software development, architecture, and technology leadership.
• 7+ years in Enterprise or Solution Architecture or a comparable strategic role.
• Proven experience in Enterprise Architecture, Architecture Governance, Technology Strategy, and Enterprise Roadmaps.
• Strong knowledge of Business Capability Mapping and Application Portfolio Management.
• Experience leading Architecture Review Boards and defining enterprise standards.
• Strong expertise in software architecture, integrations, microservices, APIs, cloud, DevOps, and CI/CD.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, leadership, and influencing skills.

Preferred

• Docker and Kubernetes experience.
• TOGAF or equivalent architecture framework certification.
• Expertise in areas such as AI/ML, cybersecurity, or mobile development.
• Strong software security knowledge and mentoring experience.
