About the role

As Engineering Squad Lead, you will play a vital role in managing and guiding team members in their professional growth while ensuring the successful execution of team deliverables. Collaborating closely with Product Owners, you will foster team cohesion, align efforts with organizational goals, and drive continuous improvement in performance and efficiency.

You will provide coaching, feedback, and support to enhance individual and team skills while leveraging your technical expertise and leadership abilities to shape the team’s impact. By implementing goal‑setting processes, monitoring progress, and promoting a culture of growth and collaboration, you will ensure the team constantly delivers exceptional results.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the line manager for team members, guiding and supporting them in their professional growth.
  • Plan and orchestrate the execution of team deliverables to ensure the achievement of defined customer and engineering outcomes.
  • Continuously seek improvements in team performance, effectiveness, and efficiency.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and guidance to team members to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Collaborate with Chapter Leaders to report on team progress and drive individual and collective development.
  • Shape the team’s impact by combining software engineering knowledge with strong leadership and motivational skills.
  • Implement goal‑setting and objective‑alignment processes to drive team performance. Monitor progress and provide constructive feedback to ensure continuous development.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Extensive experience in software development (preferable web development background – backend and frontend).
  • In-depth understanding of the IT industry, including emerging technologies, market trends, and their relevance to retail or similar industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating teams in a large, complex, and fast‑paced matrix environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and leadership capabilities.
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems effectively, navigate ambiguity, and deliver creative and practical solutions.
  • A passion for people leadership, including coaching, mentoring, and talent development.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of inclusivity, engagement, and high performance.
  • Understanding of modern QA methodologies.
  • Solid understanding and practical experience with AWS infrastructure.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining automation test suites for scalable and reliable applications.
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
