Box is looking for visionary technical leaders for our engineering teams in Warsaw, who will lead, inspire, and mentor engineers, while bridging communication between the US and Poland engineering hubs, and fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. The engineering manager role at Box involves spearheading significant technology initiatives, overseeing the entire lifecycle of projects across multiple architectural layers. Your knowledge can be vital for improving Box product and solving exciting challenges related to Cloud Content Management.

We are currently looking for leaders for the following teams:

• Box Apps is an intelligent no-code builder designed to empower businesses to create custom applications in hours instead of weeks - no specialized developers required. By combining content, metadata, workflows, and users, Box Apps allows teams to build tailored tools that enhance productivity across departments. With its intuitive drag-and-drop interface, Box Apps makes it easy to create dynamic dashboards for tracking processes, managing metadata at scale, and extracting AI-driven insights. From automating document handling to launching workflows, Box Apps delivers streamlined solutions that keep information accurate, organized, and accessible - powering smarter, faster decision-making for the teams.

The Design System team will be responsible for implementing UI/UX improvements that enable other teams to build client platform apps efficiently. One of the goals of this team is to make feature development faster and easier across teams through a central design language. A core part of the responsibility is to maintain the internal Design System in order to help drive consistency, accessibility, and reusability of frontend experiences across Box.

The Box Apps Consumer Experience team is a key part of the broader Box Apps effort which is composed of multiple teams in Poland and the US. We are building ways for our customers to quickly realize their own customized intelligent line of business applications on the Box platform. This is a frontend-focused team chartered with delivering powerful and intuitive experiences for end users to gain maximum value from their content, through AI-powered dashboards and workflows.

Your expertise is essential to our journey in shaping tomorrow's content management landscape!

Who you are:

• Ideally, you have over 2 years of experience as a software engineering manager, leading teams responsible for high-scale production services.
• You possess at least 5 years of professional software development experience, contributing to the development of full-stack web applications and/or distributed systems.
• You excel at aligning and executing new technical ideas, demonstrating an understanding of best practices.
• Proven experience in driving effective execution with agile processes in a dynamic environment.
• A people-oriented leader, capable of modelling and fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
• Exceptional at communicating, passionate about technology and committed to raising the bar.
• Experience working with distributed teams across different time zones is advantageous.

Bonus Points:

• Hands-on experience designing and building cloud-native architecture for AWS, GCP, or similar.
• Passion for open source and staying abreast of community developments.

• Develop team members through 1:1s, career planning, coaching discussions, and hiring.

• Organize stand-ups, sprint planning, technical discussions, and manage sprint task statuses.

• Represent Box internally and externally.
