Job summary

Vaillant Group in Katowice, Poland, is seeking an experienced software professional to support the delivery of the embedded Linux software platform powering our next‑generation heating systems.

You will integrate software from multiple teams, contribute to CI/CD, and work in a SAFe environment, collaborating with architects, product management, and engineers. Proficiency in C++ and Python, Yocto, Git, and GitHub Actions is required.

Qualifications

• University degree in CS/Software Engineering/IT/Electronics.
• Experience in software development, integration, testing in Agile environments.
• Knowledge of embedded Linux and basic Yocto.
• Experience with Git, GitHub Actions, and CI/CD processes.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Business-fluent English for collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of the software platform powering heating systems.
• Contribute to software integration, validation, release management using Yocto.
• Help improve CI/CD pipelines and development infrastructure.
• Coordinate integration activities within SAFe with architects and product management.
• Analyze impact of changes and assist release planning across components.
• Gain exposure to embedded Linux, backend connectivity, HMI apps, automation frameworks, and CI/CD systems.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and AI-assisted engineering initiatives.

What we achieve together

• You will support the delivery of the software platform powering our next-generation heating systems, integrating software from multiple teams into stable and releasable embedded Linux products.
• You will contribute to software integration, validation, release management, and Yocto-based Linux image creation.
• You will support and improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and development infrastructure to ensure software quality and efficient delivery.
• Working within a SAFe environment, you will collaborate with Agile teams, architects, product management, and other stakeholders to coordinate integration activities and support Program Increment (PI) objectives.
• You will analyze the impact of software changes, support release planning, and help resolve integration challenges across multiple software components.
• You will gain exposure to a broad technology landscape including embedded Linux, backend connectivity, HMI applications, automation frameworks, test infrastructure, and CI/CD systems.
• You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and explore innovative approaches, including AI-supported engineering solutions.

What makes us successful together

• Qualification: You will hold a university degree (bachelor's/master's or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
• Experience: You will bring experience in software development, software integration, testing, or related engineering activities, ideally within an Agile environment.
• Know-how and skills: You will demonstrate knowledge of embedded Linux and basic understanding of Yocto. You will have experience with Git, GitHub Actions, CI/CD processes, and programming in C++ and Python. Good Linux skills and familiarity with software integration and release processes complete your profile.
• Nice to have: Experience with SOME/IP, Robot Framework, Squish, or HVAC-related products is an advantage. Interest in AI-supported engineering solutions is a plus.
• Personality: You will be a proactive and collaborative team player who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and working across teams and technologies.

Language skills: You will be business fluent in English, enabling effective communication and collaboration within international and cross-functional teams.
