About DualEntry

Founded in 2024, DualEntry is one of NYC’s fastest-growing AI startups.

DualEntry is changing the future of finance. Our AI-native ERP lets teams achieve more in less time. $5M-ARR businesses and NYSE-listed companies trust DualEntry to automate away busywork and fuel their growth with powerful reporting and insights. We’re making the one-person finance team a reality and putting the pain of legacy ERPs from the 1990s in the past.

We operate with urgency and ownership. We move fast.

Why This Role Matters Now

Since launching 18 months ago, we’ve raised $100M with backing from Lightspeed, Khosla, and Google Ventures. We got there by moving incredibly fast and hiring the best and brightest talent. To accelerate that momentum, we’re growing our team. Come and join us at one of NYC’s fastest-growing startups and have an impact on our product from day one.

This is an intense, hands-on role with full ownership.

You’ll be joining at an early and defining moment. Your work will directly shape our product, customers, and trajectory.

Where you'll create impact

We’re looking for our first DevOps Hire to establish the DevOps foundation at DualEntry. You will play a pivotal role in designing our internal platform, scaling infrastructure, and setting the standards for reliability and automation across the organization.

We’re seeking someone with solid AWS experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a pragmatic approach to DevOps, a builder who thrives on making systems reliable, scalable, and efficient. You’ll help build the foundational backend of a product with massive market pull.

  • Lead the initial setup of our DevOps and platform engineering practices, defining standards, tooling, and infrastructure strategy.
  • Design and deliver an internal platform for personal or feature environments to empower developers and improve velocity.
  • Build and maintain AWS-based infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security.
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployments and automate release processes.
  • Implement observability tooling (logging, monitoring, alerting) to detect and resolve issues proactively.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to identify bottlenecks, improve delivery, and enhance system reliability.
  • Ensure high availability and uptime through effective monitoring, incident response, and recovery strategies.
  • Promote infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code best practices.
  • Document systems, configurations, and incident processes for team-wide clarity and consistency.
  • Participate in on-call rotations or coordinate time zone coverage to ensure 24-hour reliability across regions.

What sets you up for success

  • 10 years of overall experience, or at least 5 years of strong AWS-focused engineering experience.
  • Deep understanding of AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, IAM, networking, etc.).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
  • Strong background in CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar).
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and modern deployment workflows.
  • Experience implementing monitoring and observability solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.).
  • Comfortable working independently to build new systems and processes from the ground up.
  • Time zone flexibility to support partial 24-hour coverage is preferred.

How You Operate

  • Pragmatic: You like to move forward and make decisions based on reality (not theory). We don't debate if Cassandra has the most theoretical scalability -- we use Postgres until it breaks.
  • Hard working: 'You can work long, hard, or smart, but [here] you can't choose two out of three' - Jeff Bezos. We wrote this job post during the weekend.
  • Curious: You love to learn, are highly curious about new frameworks and solutions to engineering problems.
  • Fast-moving – You deploy daily, iterate quickly, and never wait for permission.
