Job summary

ZS is seeking a senior DevOps Engineer for its Business Technology team in Poland. You will architect and build cloud infrastructure from the ground up, automating deployments and enforcing security and compliance across environments.

You will collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers and developers to scale platforms and lead migrations as the estate evolves. The role requires hands-on experience, strong Python, IaC with Terraform, and solid cloud know-how across AWS/Azure/GCP.

Qualifications

• Hands-on DevOps engineer who has built and set up infrastructure from scratch.
• Strong Python skills for automation and tooling across the lifecycle.
• Deep IaC expertise (e.g. Terraform) to provision cloud infrastructure.
• Hands-on cloud experience across AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Git/GitHub/GitLab for source control and migrations.
• Proven CI/CD experience for containerized deployments to cloud/Kubernetes.
• Experience with Docker, Jenkins and Kubernetes is desirable.
• Degree in CS/Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Healthcare/pharma/medical tech exposure is desirable.
• Fluency in English.

Role Description

What you’ll do:

As a DevOps Engineer within ZS’s Business Technology team in Poland, you will be the senior technical owner of our cloud infrastructure – not a consumer of DevOps tooling, but the expert who designs, builds and sets it up from the ground up. This is a foundational, first‑of‑its‑kind hire for our growing Poland engineering community, and you will bring the deep, hands‑on expertise needed to establish infrastructure, automation and engineering best practice for next‑generation, AI‑based analytics products. You will architect and provision cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code, standing up environments from scratch rather than maintaining what already exists. You will design and build CI/CD pipelines, set up and manage source‑control repositories, define branching and release‑management strategies, and lead migrations (for example, GitHub to GitLab) as the estate evolves. Working closely with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Full‑Stack Developers and lead architects, you will automate deployment, embed security and compliance into every environment, and use strong Python and scripting skills to remove manual effort across the engineering lifecycle. As a senior, team‑lead‑calibre engineer, you will set the technical standard for how ZS builds and scales its platforms in Poland.

What you’ll bring:

• Demonstrable, hands‑on experience as a DevOps engineer who has built and set up infrastructure from scratch– with clear evidence of designing, developing and building (not simply consuming or using) DevOps tooling and environments (or related experience).
• Strong Python skills for automation, scripting and tooling across the engineering lifecycle.
• Deep expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) – e.g. Terraform – to automate and provision cloud infrastructure.
• Hands‑on cloud experience across AWS, Azure or GCP, including cloud design and architecture decisions.
• Strong source‑control expertise with Git, GitHub and GitLab – setting up repositories, establishing branching strategy and release‑management processes, and leading migrations between platforms.
• Proven experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines to automate containerised deployments to cloud and Kubernetes.
• Working knowledge of containerisation and orchestration – Docker, Jenkins and Kubernetes are desirable but not essential.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or comparable practical experience.
• Exposure to healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology or medical technology is highly desirable.
