Job summary

Akamai seeks a DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and operate cloud-native, highly available infra across multi-cloud environments. You will build and maintain Terraform-based IaC, containerized services with Docker and Kubernetes, and mature CI/CD pipelines with GitOps.

You’ll work on secure, scalable platforms with emphasis on zero-trust and PoLP, in Krakow with remote options. You will collaborate across teams to deliver reliable, performant systems and participate in security governance

Qualifications

• Proven experience building cloud-agnostic infrastructure and managing multi-cloud environments
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform
• Hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes in production
• Cloud security governance, zero-trust, and PoLP concepts
• CI/CD (GitOps) and scripting in Linux
• Distributed systems and Linux networking (TCP/IP, SSH, SSL, HTTP)
• Strong communication and organizational skills

As a Devops Engineer you will be responsible for:

• Contributing to the design and implementation of highly available, scalable, and high-performance solutions
• Designing and developing DevOps tools to ensure seamless software delivery
• Creating and implementing procedures to automate operational tasks, moving towards a zero-touch operations model
• Developing processes and tools to monitor, analyze, maintain, and improve distributed systems
• Collaborating with security teams to integrate automated security checks (DevSecOps) into our delivery pipelines, ensuring compliance and vulnerability management.

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have proven experience in building cloud-agnostic infrastructure and managing multi-cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Linode, ).
• Have hands-on experience building Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and managing cloud infrastructure using Terraform.
• Show hands-on experience in setting up and managing large-scale container environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Have proficiency in cloud security governance, zero-trust frameworks, and PoLP access models.
• Demonstrate proficiency in CI/CD (GitOps) and robust scripting skills in Linux Shell and Python.
• Have an understanding of distributed systems and Linux networking (including TCP/IP, SSH, SSL, HTTP).
• Possess robust communication and organizational skills to work independently and clearly convey technical information.
