HSBC is seeking a DevOps Engineer with a Data Specialization to join our team in Kraków. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining scalable data platforms with an emphasis on Google Cloud Platform and modern databases.

You will contribute to GECS regulatory electronic communication surveillance and broader risk management initiatives. The role requires experience with CI/CD, DevSecOps, Linux scripting, and Agile work practices.

Group Electronic Communication Surveillance (GECS) is a solution that is run by R&C IT Surveillance currently provides regulatory electronic communication surveillance capabilities for HSBC globally. GECS analyzes electronic communication traffic such as emails and instant messaging communications and applies various regulatory and HSBC policies against the communications.

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with a Data Specialization to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in designing, building, and maintaining scalable data platforms, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and modern database technologies.

What you’ll do

• DevOps delivery, including the buildout and maintenance of environments to support internal projects
• Build and maintain large scale cloud-based systems
• Automate workflows and processes, especially those related to keeping systems compliant and up to date
• Operational management including root cause analysis for major or repeat incidents and management of service delivery, troubleshooting complex issues and building root cause remediation plans

What you need to have to succeed in this role

• Required Tech Stack: Python, Bash, Groovy , Ansible Tower / Ansible scripts, Jenkins, Terraform, Airflow, GKE, GCE, Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Composer, SQL, Hadoop, ElasticSearch, Network
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Experience working within an Agile environment
• Strong proficiency in DevSecOps principles and tools
• Experience of Linux administration and scripting preferably Red Hat
• Experience of working with Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD) and continuous testing tools
• Automation scripting (using scripting languages such as Terraform, Ansible etc.)
