More about the role

This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a Development Engineer Mechanics in the R&D OUT Team, in Signify Ketrzyn.

What you’ll do
  • Define/review the mechanical and electrical requirements for products, modules and components to be developed and give input/feedback concerning the feasibility.
  • Develop mechanical and electrical concepts according to the agreed specification.
  • Ensure consistency solutions within and if possible, beyond application clusters (standardization and rationalization of technical solutions).
  • Support technical quality evaluation of the architecture (DFMEA, technical risks analysis).
  • Support the release of components, building blocks and total products
  • Ensure good and up to date documentation of the developed solutions.
  • Support new idea generation by keeping up to date with technological trends and staying in touch with front end innovation activities.
  • Support Manufacturing in the implementation of products while maintaining high quality and process efficiency.
  • Support benchmarking activities by evaluating competitor products and by reviewing technological knowledge generated by other Signify departments or suppliers.

  • You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or technical discipline.
  • You have 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering/mechanical design.
  • You have knowledge of the design and manufacturing of components in aluminium die-casting and plastic injection technologies.
  • You have knowledge of the electrical basics related to LED technology.
  • You are fluent in using CAD software (Solid Edge recommended).
  • You communicate effectively in English.
  • You are creative, curious, eager to learn, and you quickly pick up new trends and technologies.
  • You are a good team player characterized by strong commitment and a high level of initiative.
  • You like to work in multi-person and multi-functional teams and with external partners.
