All about the role

Within the Global R&D site, the Food Preparation – Oven Category team is looking for a highly motivated Mechanical Designer who will contribute to the design and development of new mechanical components for the 60–90 cm oven platforms, creating innovative solutions that deliver meaningful and differentiated consumer experiences.

What you’ll do

In this position, you will be involved in a wide variety of projects and take on a broad range of responsibilities — from the development of new mechanical components, sub-assemblies and functional modules, to the technical refinement and continuous improvement of complete oven assemblies.

You will be interacting globally with different R&D departments as well as with the Business Areas.

In detail, you will:

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies, ensuring performance, reliability and manufacturability, by using standard CAD programs (especially Catia or NX);
  • Create and update 3D models, 2d drawings and related technical documentation in accordance with internal standards;
  • Release technical documentation on global mechanical components and mechanical subsystems inside PLM-System (Teamcenter);
  • Responsible for components approval (Engineering Change Request, Engineering Change Notice and Article Acceptance);
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Electronics, Software, Testing, Quality, Manufacturing and Procurement;
  • Participate in design reviews and contribute to technical decision-making with data-driven analyses;
  • Support prototyping, testing and validation activities to ensure the robustness of the proposed solutions;
  • Manage changes through structured processes (e.g., Technical Design Preview, Letter of Findings, DFMEA) ensuring proper documentation and communication;
  • Interact with suppliers and external partners to secure technical feasibility and cost-effective solutions;
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, helping optimize process efficiency and design quality.
Who you are
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education background;
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in the home appliances, automotive, or consumer goods sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of 3D Design (CATIA or NX is a merit);
  • Good understanding of engineering, manufacturing and assembly principals;
  • Strong knowledge of quality tools (DFMEA, PFMEA, Tolerance analysis tools)
  • Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, cross-functional and multicultural environment.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken).
