Job summary

ABB in Poland is seeking an Electrical Automation Engineer to prepare electrical documentation for low‑voltage switchboards and to test and verify switchgear operation within control, protection, monitoring and communication systems.

The role includes technical project management, client contact, concept development, material lists, programming, and on-site startup support, with travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Higher education in electrical engineering, power engineering, automation or related.
• Communicative knowledge of English and Polish in spoken and written.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Ability to work in a team and under time pressure.

Responsibilities

• Technical management of entrusted projects and tasks
• Contact with the client in the scope of execution of current orders
• Development of concepts and preparation of documentation in the scope of control, protection, monitoring and communication systems based on the client's offer and specification
• Preparation of necessary material lists
• Preparation of necessary programs and descriptions of operation
• Uploading programs and testing the correct operation of the switchgear in the scope of control, protection, monitoring and communication systems
• Technical support and cooperation with other teams at individual stages of the project
• Coordination of the final acceptance of the project in the presence of the client
• Support for the client in starting up the switchgear on the site
• Timely and effective implementation of entrusted projects and tasks

Summary Role / Goal The electrical automation engineer prepares electrical documentation for low-voltage switchboards in terms of control, protection, monitoring and communication elements, and prepares and tests the operation of the switchboard in the scope of the above-mentioned systems.

Basic duties and responsibilities:

• Technical management of entrusted projects and tasks
• Contact with the client in the scope of execution of current orders
• Development of concepts and preparation of documentation in the scope of control, protection, monitoring and communication systems based on the client's offer and specification
• Preparation of necessary material lists
• Preparation of necessary programs and descriptions of operation
• Uploading programs and testing the correct operation of the switchgear in the scope of control, protection, monitoring and communication systems
• Technical support and cooperation with other teams at individual stages of the project
• Coordination of the final acceptance of the project in the presence of the client
• Support for the client in starting up the switchgear on the site

Required qualifications:

• Higher education in electrical engineering, power engineering, automation or related

• Good work organization, high independence and responsibility for assigned tasks
• Willingness to occasionally travel to the client
• Strong motivation and willingness to acquire knowledge

• Experience in designing and commissioning industrial communication networks
• Ability to use EPLAN Electric
