The Position

Delivery Manager - RDT Global Products & GPS

As a global team at the heart of Roche, we are a community of business-minded technologists committed to help shape tomorrow’s digital future of healthcare. Our mission is to power Roche through cutting‑edge digital technologies, harnessing the potential of artificial intelligence, data, and scalable tech innovations. Driven by purpose and passion, we’re building a future where digital is a core strength across all of Roche, enabling smarter ways of working, unlocking human potential, and driving breakthroughs that truly matter for millions of patients around the world.

At Roche, we offer a hybrid work model that combines flexibility with in‑person collaboration. For now, we require our employees to be in our offices on average two days per week. The specific office days may vary depending on business needs, such as workshops, conferences, town halls, team meetings, and other collaborative events.

The Delivery Manager provides expert guidance on complex deliveries, drives efficiency improvements, influences stakeholder decisions, and mentors others to achieve strategic alignment and support team growth. In this role, you will navigate organizational complexity to define and communicate comprehensive solution visions and roadmaps for large‑scale and strategically critical initiatives. You will operate primarily in senior delivery leadership capacities - specifically as a Solution Train Engineer (STE) and Release Train Engineer (RTE) - while retaining the flexibility to function across archetypes such as Program Manager, Service Delivery Manager, or Agile Coach depending on organizational needs.

The opportunity:

  • Scope / (Content Leadership): Provides expert guidance and strategic direction on defining and managing scope for complex or high‑impact initiatives. Develops, implements, and champions scope management strategies, frameworks, and best practices for relevant initiatives. Oversees the management of significant scope changes, ensuring strategic alignment and minimal disruption, while proactively identifying and driving improvements to scope‑related processes for enhanced delivery efficiency.
  • Accountability/Problem Solving: Leads the analysis of complex and strategic delivery problems across boundaries, eliciting complex needs and influencing decisions. Accountable for delivery management on significant initiatives, defining strategic solutions, and driving consensus through persuasive communication and facilitation. Proactively identifies strategic opportunities and risks, and mentors colleagues on problem‑solving.
  • Stakeholder Management: Identifies key stakeholders, including senior management, across organizational boundaries and analyzes complex stakeholder networks. Develops and executes comprehensive stakeholder engagement and communication plans. Influences stakeholder decisions related to delivery, navigates conflicts to achieve alignment, and builds strong collaborative relationships across the organization.
  • Impact/Strategy: Provides consistent leadership and significant impact across major products within a product line or domain. Drives significant impact on projects and programs by embedding Agile best practices and leading organizational change initiatives. Leads the evaluation of strategic solution options, fosters a culture of innovation, and proactively proposes improvements to help implement strategic objectives.
  • Complexity / (Product Size): Manages complex projects, services, and multi‑team value streams across domains. Facilitates end‑to‑end execution, Program Increment (PI) planning, and sync cadences across large‑scale programs and initiatives. Handles ambiguous delivery requirements and leads the implementation of delivery frameworks while navigating complex stakeholder and technical landscapes.
  • Business/Technical ability: Possesses in-depth business knowledge and understanding of Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences market trends to shape delivery strategies that achieve strategic business objectives. Drives business process improvements and innovation, leading the implementation of Scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe) and other delivery best practices. Manages large‑scale, complex delivery programs and innovates delivery methodologies to enhance efficiency, quality, and time‑to‑market.

Who you are:

Education / Experience

  • 10+ years of dedicated experience carrying direct Release Train Engineer (RTE) and Solution Train Engineer (STE) responsibilities, orchestrating multi‑team Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and Solution Trains in complex enterprise environments.
  • Experience within the Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise CRM platforms (especially Veeva , Salesforce Health Cloud, SAP CRM, or Microsoft Dynamics 365) is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record operating in senior delivery management archetypes (Program Manager, STE, RTE, Agile Coach) with demonstrable success running large‑scale, mission‑critical delivery programs.
  • Extensive background in embedding Agile best practices, driving continuous improvement, and leading organizational change initiatives across product lines or multi‑disciplinary domains.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong relationships with senior executives, product owners, architects, and cross‑functional teams across organizational boundaries.

Technical / Business Skills

  • Deep expertise in leading the implementation of Scaled Agile frameworks (SAFe), Lean governance, dependency mapping, and modern software delivery methodologies.

  • In‑depth business knowledge and an understanding of market trends, with the ability to translate strategic business objectives into clear execution roadmaps.
  • Advanced analytical and systems‑thinking skills to resolve systemic delivery bottlenecks, cross‑boundary dependencies, and technical delivery conflicts.
  • Familiarity with enterprise‑grade architecture, software delivery lifecycles (SDLC), and release governance in cloud and enterprise platform ecosystems.

Additional Qualifications
