Job summary

Sii Poland is seeking a technical lead to steer end-to-end data science projects, from problem framing with clients to signing off on modeling approaches and ensuring production-ready delivery.

The role is hands-on: you’ll code in Python, challenge model choices, and push for robust metrics, while your biggest impact comes from mentoring the team and setting engineering standards across platforms like Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks, and Palantir Foundry.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in data science with models shipped to production
• 2+ years leading/mentoring data scientists
• Hands-on Python across the standard data stack
• Strong statistical and ML foundations
• Familiarity with Azure, AWS, GCP, Snowflake, Databricks, Palantir Foundry
• Experience leading client-facing delivery
• Fluent English and Polish; residing in Poland

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction of data science engagements including solution design and validation
• Lead and mentor a team of data scientists; conduct code/methodology reviews
• Stay hands-on with prototype work and production-grade Python where needed
• Translate business problems into scorable data science workstreams
• Set and enforce engineering standards for reproducibility, tracking, Testing
• Guide platform decisions across cloud/data ecosystems (Azure/AWS/GCP, Databricks, Snowflake)
• Collaborate with AI architects, data engineers, and clients to align technical decisions with business outcomes
• Present results and defend methodology to clients and manage expectations
