Job summary

Element is seeking a Data Science & ML Team Lead to guide the analytics division within the banking sector. The role focuses on strategy development, cross-department collaboration, and managing a team of data scientists and analysts.

You will develop and maintain data mining models, drive adoption of analytics initiatives, and deliver insights through dashboards for business units. 6–8 years in data analytics with leadership experience in banking are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in statistics, computational linguistics, computer science or a related quantitative methods.
• 6-8 years in data analysis within financial institutions with at least 3 years in managerial roles.
• 3 years in Banking including knowledge CRM, marketing and strategy support.
• Understanding of analytical applications development and usage to support business decision making.
• In depth knowledge of the architecture required for data management.
• Knowledge of banking products, services and Oracle EDW data model.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to the development of divisional strategy and ensuring alignment during development and monitoring of departmental strategy.
• Collaborating with other departments to devise analytics strategy and executing it, e.g. Digital Banking.
• Supervising day-to-day activities of Modelling, Data Science and AI Department.
• Developing, implementing and maintaining data mining models.
• Adopting data mining initiatives in the bank and providing guidance on analytics tools.
• Delivering presentations on new products and process improvements to stakeholders.
• Working with business units to standardize analytical processes and analyses.
• Collaborating with BI Advisory and Reporting teams for the BI environment.
• Helping users set up analytical reports and dashboards to meet requirements.
• Training stakeholders on accessing and using analytical reports.

Responsibilities

• Contributing to the development of divisional strategy and ensuring translation and alignment during the development and monitoring of departmental strategy including objectives, targets and initiatives
• Working closely with other departments to devise their analytics strategy and assisting in executing the strategy. E.g. Digital Banking department
• Supervising the day-to-day activities of Modelling, Data science and Artificial Intelligence Department
• Developing, implementing and maintaining Data mining models
• Participating in enhancing the adoption of Data mining initiatives in the Bank
• Providing guidance and consultancy on using Analytical and Data mining tools
• Delivering or participating in presentations on new products/services, on-going process improvement efforts and/or operational initiatives
• Working closely with business units to identify business unit standard/approved analytical processes and analyses
• Working with BI Advisory, Applied Practices and BI & Reporting Teams for the Business Champions incubation program to know more about the EBIM and the BI Environment in the bank
• Help internal users to set up analytical reports and dashboards that will meet their business requirements
• Train stakeholders and other members of the team on how to effectively access and use the analytical reports

Requirements

• Master's degree in statistics, computational linguistics, computer science or a related quantitative methods plus
• 6-8 years relevant experience in data analysis or analytical applications in financial institutions including at least 3 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities
• 3 years of Banking industry including knowledge CRM, marketing and strategy support
• Understanding of analytical applications development and usage to support business decision making
• In depth knowledge in the architecture required for data management
• Knowledge of the operations, products and services of banks and financial institutions
• In depth knowledge in Oracle EDW data model for Banking and financial institutions
• In depth understanding of Enterprise Business Intelligence and Reporting principles and key components
• Knowledge of Analytics, data mining techniques and tools
• Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles and practices.
