Sii Poland is seeking a Data Platform Engineer to shape the data ecosystem across AWS and GCP. You will build, maintain, and enhance a cloud-based data platform, enabling scalable and secure data solutions for the business.

The role sits at the intersection of engineering, infrastructure, and data, working with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Analysts to deliver a robust MLOps platform while upholding high engineering standards and governance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data engineering or data platform engineering.
• Strong DevOps, cloud tech, AWS and GCP, Docker, and Terraform.
• Expertise with BigQuery security, performance, cost management.
• Experience with AWS data lake (Athena, S3, Glue) design and optimization.
• Proficiency in Python and modern data tools (Airflow, dbt).
• Solid data security, access management, and governance knowledge.
• Observability/monitoring using Grafana, CloudWatch.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with stakeholders.
• Fluent English and Polish; Poland resident

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the Data Platform across AWS and GCP, including data lakes and warehouses.
• Enhance features, improve monitoring, observability, and automate tasks.
• Develop CI/CD deployment processes to improve reliability and scale.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers, Scientists, and Analysts to support MLOps.

We are looking for a Data Platform Engineer to help shape the future of the data ecosystem. In this role, you will build, maintain, and enhance our cloud-based data platform across AWS and GCP, enabling scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data solutions for the wider business.

You will work at the intersection of engineering, infrastructure, and data, partnering closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Data Analysts, and other stakeholders to deliver a platform that supports current and future data needs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys designing data platforms, evaluating technical trade-offs, and building reliable infrastructure that empowers teams across the organization.

Your tasks

• Build and maintain the Data Platform infrastructure across AWS and GCP, including data lakes, data warehouses, orchestration, and observability components
• Enhance the platform by introducing new features and services, improving monitoring and observability, and automating common operational tasks
• Develop and maintain CI/CD-driven deployment processes to improve platform reliability, scalability, and developer experience
• Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and Data Analysts to support and evolve the MLOps Platform
• Manage and optimize the data estate, including IAM and access policies, storage management, platform monitoring, and cost control
• Design and implement secure, compliant, and user-friendly data infrastructure solutions
• Continuously improve platform performance, reliability, security, and operational efficiency across cloud environments
• Work with stakeholders across and beyond the data organization to understand requirements and deliver platform capabilities that meet their needs
• Contribute to and uphold strong engineering practices, including code reviews, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, and established data governance standards

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in Data Engineering and/or Data Platform Engineering
• Strong infrastructure and platform engineering experience, including modern DevOps practices, cloud technologies, AWS and GCP, Docker, and Terraform
• Expertise with BigQuery, including security, performance optimization, and cost management
• Experience working with AWS data lake architectures (Athena, S3, Glue), including query optimization, security, and cost-efficient design
• Proficiency in Python and modern data technologies such as Airflow and dbt
• Solid understanding of data security, platform security, and access management
• Experience implementing and maintaining observability and monitoring solutions, such as Grafana and CloudWatch
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate technical options and make informed trade-offs
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Comfortable working in environments with high engineering standards, including CI/CD, code reviews, pull requests, and established governance practices
• Fluent English (both written and spoken)
• Residing in Poland required
• Fluent Polish required

Nice to have

• Experience designing or building MLOps platforms and supporting machine learning workflows in production environments
