State Street is hiring for a Data Governance & Management role within the SSBI Data Governance & Management team in Kraków. The role focuses on implementing data governance practices, data quality controls, and reporting frameworks to ensure BCBS 239-compliant data management in Finance.

Responsibilities include developing Data Quality Framework, maintaining data dictionaries, managing data provider/consumer relationships, and ensuring metadata lineage and catalog accuracy.

• Capture technical metadata and link data structures to definitions in the Data Catalog.
• Ensure application data lineage is accurate and updated in the Data Catalog.
• Participate in data integration projects ensuring quality controls and catalog updates.
• Drive resolution of data quality issues in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Support end-to-end Data Quality testing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide status reporting on assigned tasks.

SSBI Data Governance & Management team supports the Finance function to ensure compliance with BCBS 239 requirements. This role is responsible for implementing data governance practices, data quality controls, and reporting frameworks to ensure that the Finance organization's data management practices comply with BCBS 239 standards. This role is part of SSBI RDAR framework adapting the Data Steward role from the global Data Governance policy and is responsible to apply to standards, frameworks and controls to ensure that the organization's data management practices comply with BCBS 239 standards. Data Stewards are subject matter experts for certain data sets typically aligned with business applications. Data Stewards maintain business metadata within the Data Catalog to enable a common understanding of data context, meaning and lineage. Data Stewards also support the Business Owner to implement data management. controls related to data quality and data use.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and developing Data Quality Framework for Risk, Finance and Treasury
• Maintain data dictionary aligned to enterprise glossary to ensure data context and meaning is clear to Data Consumers and other stakeholders
• Manage Data Provider/Consumer relationships and confirm that data is fit for purpose
• Engage Business Owners to verify that operational controls (business and IT) are implemented and fully documented to mitigate data quality risks.
• Capture technical metadata and associate physical data structures to business data element definitions within the Data Catalog.
• Ensure that application data lineage (inputs, outputs) is accurate and updated in the Data Catalog.
• Participate in data integration projects to ensure appropriate data is used, data quality controls are implemented, and the Data Catalog is updated.
• Drive resolution of data quality issues and exceptions by collaborating with business process owners, technology experts or other key stakeholder and subject matter experts.
• Participating in the preparation and execution of comprehensive, end to end Data Quality testing
• Being an active participant of the continues improvement initiatives aiming to increase the team's productivity through appropriate analysis and re-engineering business processes
• Status reporting on assigned tasks.

Requirements And Qualifications

• Strong understanding of data management concepts, principles and practices
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to influence staff and customers are required.
• Strong written and oral communication skills to motivate and influence staff and customers are required.
• Hands-on experience and full understanding (SME level) of data sets relevant for BU.
• Ability to understand data models, data taxonomy, and a deep appreciation of data standards and data quality.
• Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot), Word and Visio
• Experience with SQL and BI tools (Power BI) are preferably
• Strong project management skills to manage multiple issues simultaneously.
• Self-confidence, high energy and tenacity in bringing issues to closure and moving forward are highly desired.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Information Technology, Finance)
• 5+ years of experience in the financial industry, preferably in capital markets or financial markets infrastructure, with roles in data governance, risk management of compliance
• Ability to take ownership and initiative, be accountable and proactive, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in English is a must

Minimum Salary

zł132,000 Annual

The minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ.

Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.

In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.
