Job description

A leading global organisation is building a modern, global data ecosystem on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) through a strategic partnership with Google.

We're looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join a growing EMEA Data Engineering team. You'll help build and enhance the GCP data platform, with a focus on data governance, metadata management, semantic modelling, data discovery, and self-service analytics.

You'll work closely with data engineering, infrastructure, architecture, analytics, and business teams across EMEA and globally to create a secure, scalable, and well-governed data platform.

What You'll Do
  • Design and develop GCP capabilities for data governance, metadata, analytics, and semantic models.
  • Migrate on-premise databases and datasets to GCP while maintaining data quality, security, and integrity.
  • Build reusable semantic models and data products with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders.
  • Improve automation, development processes, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support data discovery and governance using GCP Knowledge Catalog / Dataplex.
  • Monitor and optimise platform performance, availability, security, and cost.
  • Design scalable, reliable, and secure end-to-end data platform solutions.
  • Stay up to date with modern cloud data technologies and help continuously improve the GCP ecosystem.
What You'll Bring
  • 3–6 years' experience in data engineering, including at least 1 year working with GCP.
  • Strong hands-on experience with GCP data services, particularly BigQuery, Knowledge Catalog, and Cloud IAM.
  • Strong Python and SQL skills.
  • Experience with data modelling, data warehouses/lakes, and semantic models, ideally Looker/LookML.
  • Understanding of data governance, data quality, security, and access control.
  • Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases and cloud data platforms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a global, collaborative environment.
Nice to Have
  • GCP Data Engineering or Architecture certification.
  • Experience with Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, and DevOps.
  • Experience with GIS data or commercial real estate.
Why Join?

This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping a global cloud data platform, working with modern GCP technologies and collaborating with teams across multiple markets.

If you're passionate about cloud data engineering and want to help build the foundations of a modern data ecosystem, we'd love to hear from you.
