About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join a leading banking technology team in Stockholm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Informatica PowerCenter and Teradata, with proven experience in the banking or financial services sector. You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing data pipelines and solutions that support critical banking applications, regulatory reporting, and analytics initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize ETL processes and data pipelines using Informatica PowerCenter.
- Work with Teradata for data warehousing, modeling, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and technology teams to gather requirements and deliver robust data solutions.
- Ensure data quality, security, and compliance with banking and financial regulations.
- Support regulatory reporting, risk, and financial analytics through high-quality data engineering solutions.
- Perform data validation, profiling, and reconciliation across multiple banking systems.
- Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing ETL workflows and database performance.
- Contribute to data governance, metadata management, and data stewardship initiatives within the bank.
Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer / ETL Developer in the banking or financial services domain.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Informatica PowerCenter (ETL).
- Experience with Teradata (SQL, data warehousing, performance optimization).
- Solid understanding of data modeling, star/snowflake schemas, and data warehouse design.
- Knowledge of banking domain data (e.g., customer, transactions, risk, compliance, treasury, credit).
- Proficiency in SQL, stored procedures, and performance tuning techniques.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work in agile / collaborative environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with data governance, metadata management, and data lineage tools.
- Exposure to regulatory frameworks (e.g., Basel III, BCBS 239, IFRS 9).
- Knowledge of additional ETL tools, BI tools, or scripting languages (Python, Shell).
