About the Role

S&P Global Corporate Global Corporate Data Associate, Content Acquisition and Rights Management (EMEA)

The Data Associate, Content Acquisition & Rights Management (CARM), will support the centralized and growing function responsible for the licensing, distribution and management of 3rd party content and services by S&P Global’s worldwide business units. The role will help implement internal controls to ensure that the use of 3rd party content and services contracts meet the needs of our businesses and ensure S&P Global’s compliance with all terms and conditions. This position will be based in Gdansk, PL.

The team is the Content Acquisition and Rights Management (CARM) team, the market data advisory group to the S&P Global organization. The CARM group currently manages this function across the enterprise. CARM has a collaborative, proactive & strategic approach to content acquisition, data sharing, savings/synergies and governance.

Responsibilities

Support the centralized function responsible for the acquisition, utilization, and distribution of 3rd party content and services globally. As an individual contributor to the team, the candidate will be responsible with the following areas of responsibility:

  • Commercial deal and contractual negotiations – vendor selection process, negotiation of commercial terms and finalize into complete and executed agreements, obtain necessary business stakeholder approvals, and post-execution management of rights and obligations for vendor partnerships. For larger/broader partnerships, collaborate with other CARM colleagues, partnership teams and stakeholders across the enterprise.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with the company’s third‑party content and service providers, keeping up to date on the latest offerings and vendor options.
  • Provide overall project governance of any ongoing or new project assigned by producing plans to monitor and track progress, schedule, and coordination of all project aspects and managing changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to review requests for additional content and services, clearly documenting and understanding each request.
  • Ensure compliance with existing license grants, making recommendations to the business on potential risks and suggested actions.
  • Lead contract renewal process for multiple vendors and agreements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date summaries of all vendor relationships and related contracts and terms that you will manage.
  • Support CARM’s communication strategy by crafting and sending emails, presentations, blog posts, etc.
  • Meet with business stakeholders and vendors, review news and periodicals, attend training and events to continuously grow and evolve knowledgebase of S&P’s products and services, S&P’s 3rd‑party vendor partners, and the overall financial information and market data industry.
Basic Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required with 3+ years relevant experience specifically focused on vendor relationship management, contract negotiations and/or overall market data management.
  • Complex and creative commercial deal negotiation experience as well as strong aptitude for reviewing, revising, and authoring contract terms within Word.
  • Attention to detail, follow-through on projects and multi-tasking skills a must.
  • Candidate must possess a solid knowledge of financial information and market data industry – including various vendors and products available in the marketplace.
  • Strong customer focus with demonstrated ability to be highly responsive and present solutions to requests and issues. CARM is a centralized business support team and function, and all business stakeholders within the firm are our customers.
  • Comfortable liaising with internal stakeholders and external partners at a variety of levels.
  • Problem‑solving, and project management experience.
  • Solid presentation verbal and writing skills with ability to influence others.
  • Must be highly organized and self‑directed with the ability to work autonomously and adapt to change.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
