Job summary

Tieto Corp. is seeking an experienced Data Architect to join the Data & Analytics project. You will design and architect data solutions, integrate data from multiple sources, and build scalable datasets to support analytics and reporting.

You will work with business and technical stakeholders and contribute to backend development when needed. Required are 4+ years in data architecture or data engineering, and 3+ years with Azure data services, including Azure SQL, ADF, and ADLS Gen2.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in data architecture or data engineering.
• 3+ years with Azure data platform services.
• Hands-on with Azure SQL Database, including schema design.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory pipelines and data flows.
• Knowledge of data modeling, dimensional modeling, and star schemas.
• Strong SQL skills, joins, CTEs, and query tuning.

Responsibilities

• Design and architect data solutions for multi-source system integration.
• Create scalable datasets to support analytics and reporting platforms.
• Gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Design data models, ETL/ELT processes, data warehouse and data lake solutions.
• Ensure scalability, performance, and data quality; validate data solutions.
• Collaborate with analysts, developers, DBAs, and stakeholders; document solutions.
• Communicate complex data concepts to non-technical audiences; support backend development.

Tieto is looking for an experienced Data Architect to join our Data & Analytics project in the agricultural industry. In this role, you will design and architect data solutions, integrate data from multiple sources, and create scalable datasets supporting analytics and reporting. You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders and contribute to backend development when needed.

• Create scalable datasets to support analytics and reporting platforms
• Gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions and specifications
• Design data models, ETL/ELT processes, data warehouse, and data lake solutions
• Ensure scalability, performance, data quality, and validation of data solutions
• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, DBAs, and other stakeholders
• Communicate complex data concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders
• Support backend development when required
• Document technical solutions and share knowledge within the team

Who we are looking for

• You have 4+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or similar roles
• 3+ years of experience working with Azure data platform services
• Strong hands‑on experience with Azure SQL Database, including schema design, query optimization, and indexing
• Strong experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), including pipeline design, triggers, linked services, and data flows
• Experience with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2) and Azure Storage
• Experience with Azure Logic Apps
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Databricks, Spark SQL, PySpark, and Delta Lake
• Strong knowledge of data modeling, including dimensional modeling and star schema
• Good understanding of ETL/ELT design patterns and data warehouse/data lake architecture
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, CTEs, query performance tuning, and execution plan analysis
• Experience with multi‑source data integration, APIs, data quality, validation, and error‑handling approaches
• Understanding of CI/CD, version control (Git), Infrastructure as Code, and Azure security concepts
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to gather and analyze requirements and work effectively in cross‑functional teams
• English proficiency at Upper‑Intermediate level or higher

Will be an advantage

• Good understanding of Power BI and data requirements for dashboards
• Knowledge of reporting concepts, metrics, KPIs, and business intelligence
• Experience with Azure DevOps
• Experience with Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or other Infrastructure as Code approaches
• Knowledge of RBAC, Key Vaults, and cloud security/access management
• Previous experience or understanding of the agriculture/agribusiness domain
• Experience mentoring colleagues and sharing technical knowledge
• Understanding of Agile methodologies
