Job summary

SMA Magnetics Sp. z o.o. is seeking an IT Engineer Cyber Security to implement, configure and operate core security controls, ensuring that architecture requirements are met and vulnerabilities are actively managed in day-to-day operations.

You will monitor SIEM alerts, perform incident analysis, and coordinate with MSSP/CIRT while developing automation scripts to improve security checks and responses. Fluency in German and English is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, IT security or a comparable technical IT qualification with relevant professional experience.
• Hands-on experience in administering and operating cyber security tools such as SIEM, EDR/MDR, vulnerability scanners, firewalls and security gateways.
• Experience in vulnerability management, security monitoring and operational incident response.
• Strong technical knowledge of network protocols, Windows/Linux security, cloud environments, scripting with Python or PowerShell and security automation/SOAR.
• Knowledge of common security standards and best practices (e.g., NIST CSF 2.0).
• Good German and business-fluent English skills.

Responsibilities

• Implement, configure, administer and continuously improve central IT security solutions (EDR/MDR, firewalls, web gateways, IAM) with MSSP coordination.
• Perform continuous vulnerability scanning across IT/OT environments and coordinate patch processes.
• Monitor security logs and SIEM alerts, analyze incidents and initiate countermeasures with MSSP/CIRT.
• Develop scripts and use automation/SOAR to improve recurring security checks.
• Support IT administrators with secure system configuration and hardening.
