Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in technical leadership with expertise in Unreal Engine and AI.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and shipping complex production software.
• Strong system design skills across both product logic and scalable infrastructure.
• Willingness to engage in hands-on development when needed.
• Experience in scaling teams and processes from early-stage to growth.
• Exceptional English (C1/C2) and Polish required.

Responsibilities

Why this role exists

We are looking for a CTO who will be a true co-driver of the company’s success. This is a high-trust leadership role for a technical visionary who understands the market, can scale a startup, and connects business outcomes with technology choices. You will bridge the gap between high-level strategy and hands‑on execution, ensuring our team stays focused on the goals that move the needle.

What you will do

• Technical Strategy: Own the technical roadmap and architecture across the entire product (UE5 plugin + Python backend/AI services + Web stack for user facing interfaces).

• Strategic Leadership: Co‑lead the company with the CEO, translating business vision into executable milestones and measurable outcomes.

• Engineering Excellence: Set and enforce high engineering standards (quality, reviews, testing, release discipline) to ensure speed without sacrificing reliability.

• Team Scaling: Lead, mentor, and grow our engineering team; own the hiring and onboarding processes for future talent.

• Global Engagement: Represent Ludus AI in front of investors, enterprise clients, and global partners (gamedev and beyond).

• Risk Management: Mitigate technical debt and manage security, performance, and long‑term maintainability.

• Culture Architect: Foster a healthy, ambitious, and transparent engineering culture.

• Hand‑on development: When required, you are not afraid to get hands‑on with a variety of different challenges in multiple coding languages.

Requirements

• Expertise: 7+ years of experience in technical leadership, with mandatory expertise in Unreal Engine and a solid background in AI and Python environments.

• Leadership Track Record: Proven experience leading engineering teams and shipping complex production software.

• Architectural Vision: Strong system design skills across both product logic and scalable infrastructure.

• Hands‑on Mindset: Willingness to "get into the trenches" when needed, especially in our lean, high‑speed environment.

• Startup DNA: Experience in scaling teams and processes from early stage to growth.

• Business Orientation: Ability to make difficult trade‑offs to ensure product‑market fit and business wins.

• Communication: Exceptional English (C1/C2) is a must – you will work daily with global investors and industry giants. Język Polski jest wymagany.

• Deep roots in the Unreal Engine ecosystem or game developer tools market.

• Experience with AI‑enabled SaaS products.
